Bad. I now understand why so many parents who can pay private school tuition do so.Terrible assistant principals.

Horrible. The Henry County BOE should consider a 100% administrative turn over.

You have children fighting...where are the teachers? Where's administrative staff? Its gone down hill every since Clayton co lost accreditation. Get your standards up or you guys will end up with lawsuits from the behavior you allow which was on fox5. Have some pride in teaching and controlling children...sad this was never the case in 2002. You def have to work bc eventually ya won't be any better than clayton co

I never learned physics because they fired my teacher two months into the school year and replaced him with someone that didn't even bother to teach us anything unless she found out she was going to be evaluated on the day of, and even then it was an old lesson plan that we'd already learned. I also didn't do anything in my AP English class for a larger part of the school year because my teacher's husband died but the principle didn't bother to hire anyone else, including a regular substitute teacher. Sometimes we'd head into class and no one ever showed up because the principle "forgot" despite the fact that there was communication of a qualified substitute being required prior to our teacher's husband's passing. The school also places more emphasis on the clothing of its female students rather than the quality of education we received. Rather than preparing its students for a life of hard work in the professional labour force, they prepare them for a life of labour in prison. Dutchtown places a lot its students in detention or ISS without understanding why they're even doing so. Most of the teachers have attempted to help the students and the school, some of them do care, but many of the good teachers have left the school because even they couldn't take the constant headaches and depression that comes from being a member of Dutchtown. And the other teachers shouldn't be teaching at all, they're just as bad as a jaded villain in a movie. Either they don't teach anything at all, they hand out continuous workbook pages and tell the kids to "figure it out", they fill out referrals on a daily because they feel like it, they're rude, they hate life, they go on power trips, and they act like the children they're teaching. There's more emphasis on failing sport teams than the drama/art department. The office is a whole other headache entirely that I cannot discuss without giving away my personal information, but basically no one is ever on the same page. The administration really needs to get it together and stop revolving every year.

Most of the teachers try their best to help you succeed. They will help you when you need it.

Love this school. They motivate both of my daughters academically at the middle and highschool. I have always told them that THEY make the school, the school does not make them!

Dutchtown High School of Henry county at times has teachers who don't have their heart in what they do. Sometimes you may sit in a class and learn absolutely nothing because the teacher finds if necessary to talk on the phone with her best friend. You often times find yourself teaching yourself. The AP teachers never assist you in a time of need. The student body as a whole is great. Although the teachers may not be so great your fellow peers will always be there when you need them and that is what I love about this school. You can call on your classmate to assist you when your teacher doesn't find the need to.

I loved Dutchtown High School. My son attended and he is now in the Air Force and doing well and both my neice and daughter attended and they graduated in May and are both headed to great Universities. Ms. Noble does a great job with adding diversity to the school and I feel that this community should be grateful for having such a great administrator and caring teachers in place. Kudos to the teachers and to the staff.

As a freshman, Dutchtown has a great education system. I think what needs to be looked at more is the administration and the math department. I am currently in Adv. math 1 and i have never seen such ridiculous teaching before. This new math thign they have going on is really absurd and I,personally, hope it goes back to subjects such as Algebra, trigonometry etc.We are learning unessacary information. Please study how other countries do their education and see how they are excelling. But as a school, it could be something i look forward to everyday. It is very boring as a whole. I'm in the band program but all I can tell you is to tutor yourself in math. The english department is good, however.

DHS Swept the Henry County Science Fair This Year!! ALL of the students sent to International and most of the ones who went to State came from DHS. It was such a win that they asked the science teachers to stand up and take a bow from DHS. (and the football team is not bad as well!)

Sending my children to Dutchtown High School is the worst mistake I have ever made. This school really needs to get rid of ineffective teachers. I placed one star by parent involvement, because I do not believe the school wants parents to know the level of incompetence that is going on there. If parents start sharing information, the administrators and teachers would be held accountable. Bring in new, innovative, and competent teachers. This is a great community of parents, but this school has been going in the wrong direction the last few years. We also need to hold our administrators accountable for where they have been lacking in leadership and as role models. I cannot help but note that there is one administrator there who is angry all the time. Her interpersonal skills are horrible! She hollers at the children, she is even loud with parents. When I hear her I think, "My God, no one should be that angry so early in the morning." I feel as if some of those poor children are paying for whatever is going wrong or went wrong in her life. Parents, wake up! Pray for a massive change in accountability for Dutchtown, and most of all, pray for our children.

Yet another terrible GA school, check the scorecard on their website. SAT, CRCT and graduation rates are pitiful. If you want your kids to have a decent education in Georgia you better pay for private school.

DHS is an excellent school. The facilities are great. The faculty is great and cares a lot about the students. There is a lot of parent involvement. Our son has been at DHS for six months now and is doing great. The AFJROTC is his favorite but he is also in band and soccer. The soccer program is above average and the coaches are willing to work with players of all skill levels. Overall the school is very nice and our son is really enjoying it. Highly recomended!
