Having a granddaughter diagnosed with Autism, me and my daughter were skeptical about enrolling her at Dutchtown/Pre K classroom. We attended the Open House meeting last year and remained for over and hour trying to determine if this classroom and teacher would be the perfect setting for her. Becoming more enthused and comfortable with Mrs. Lanning and classroom setting, we began asking many questions. She was eager to answer with concern, knowledge, compassion, and professionalism. We left feeling a sense of comfort knowing this is the perfect classroom for my granddaughter. As the year progressed, she started demonstrating skills that we had never witnessed such as becoming more calmer and easy to manage. This is now my granddaughter's second year at Dutchtown with Mrs. Lanning. I am so elated as she continues to help her progress and achieve social skills, behavioral challenges, and communication skills. We truly feel comfortable as we go about our own daily activities knowing she is in a safe, loving environment, and will receive instructional support with Mrs. Lisa Lanning and her assistants.

Both of my children have completed Elementary at Dutchtown over the past 10 years. I have had the pleasure of knowing 3 principal's in that time and each of them brought amazing energy and ideas to the building. Having my children in the gifted program has only added to their rich school experiences and I know has prepared them academically. As they progress through the cluster (ES, MS, HS) I am always so proud of the work they do to stay connected and support each other in academics, fine arts, and sports to be the best in Henry County and GA.

the coach did not allow my emergency period kit even though I really needed it and got in trouble for bringing it but the good thing is that my teacher understood

I can't say anything negative about this school. They are extremely organized. I have 2 kids there, so far it's great. They are also in the Chinese program and are able to speak Chinese, which I love. We had one bullying situation and it was handled immediately. I children truly love their teachers, and the teachers communicate with us on a regular basis.

Great teachers, good campus, well organized. Chinese immersion program benefits students well beyond kinder garden.

This school is the only one in the state that has a Mandarin immersion program. The administration is strong and the teachers here are amazing.

I love this school because they actually care about students, they are actually there for the kids. Every year my kids start school and by the end of the year you see a tremendous change that is amazing. My kids come home everyday telling me something they learned and is excited about it. I have a 1st, 2nd, and 4th grader and they have been there since kindergarten and they All make all A's and they excelled in reading and that shows great teaching and parenting. I absolutely love Dutchtown elementary school!!!

There is absolutely no accountability and too many cliques between the personnel. Hate it! Looking to sale my house just to move my child to a different school!

I haven't been involved with Dutchtown until this year but I have been impressed with the organizational skills of the staff, the caring of the teachers and how informative they are about everything that is going on. Thank you for making me proud to say my grandson goes here.

i use to go to this school and it's a great school , but people are bullied a lot at this school and i know this from experience .Other then that i think it's a great school and almost everybody passes the CRCT.

Academics is ok. Bullying is a big issue at this school and the administration is not taking care of it. I have a child at the school who has been constantly bullied. I have spoken with other parents who have similar stories. If you want your child to have a well rounded positive experience please please stay engaged with their overall experience of school. They will not admit to a problem that has gotten way out of control. Talk to other parents and stay involved with your childs experience.
