NEVER SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO POWELL VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. THEY HAVE FAILED TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE AND DON’T DO ANYTHING TO STOP IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. MY SON IN 4th GRADE WAS ASSAULTED IN THE BATHROOM OF THIS SCHOOL BY 2 5th GRADE STUDENTS YESTERDAY. THEY CORNERED MY SON IN THE BATHROOM AND WOULD NOT LET HIM LEAVE AND THEN BASHED HIS HEAD ON THE BATHROOM SINK. THEY TRIED TO KILL MY SON AND THE SCHOOL IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. I WANT THE WORLD TO KNOW. THE SCHOOL IS DOING NOTHING TO KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE.

Mi hija estuvo en esa escuela ase unos años ella ya es adolesente asta el día de hoy me a contado que sufrió de bulin por parte de un niño mucho mayor que ella y una de sus maestras era muy rasista mi hija asta el día de hoy no habla con otras personas que no sea yo ella desaroyo mutismo selectivo a raíz de eso espero que tomen en cuenta este comentario y que ningún niño sufra bulin

This school and district is working hard to improve bench marks and include all students. Most of these reviews are old.

Completely awful. Just in the past 3 years everything has gone downhill. Bullies and at risk get away with everything the principal.and head Secretary are complete idiots

The majority of the teachers and staff are completely awful. They are old and can't keep the kids attention. They then get frustrated and yell at them. The principal should not be allowed to be in charge of any school. This place is terrible!

Our son has enjoyed his time so far in Kindergarden with Miss Love and in first grade as well. The staff seems to really care about the kids and he's been advancing well and we feel like he's well ahead of what we expected at his age

I, too, have a son who completed his kindergarten year at Powell Valley in Miss Love's class. I thought her and her teaching assistant, Mrs. Millican, were awesome. Supportive and encouraging and everything you would hope for in a teacher. I also found the principal and the other staff I met to be warm and very engaged in the student's success. And I was also very impressed with the events that they held. There was a fantastic holiday bazaar and carnival as well as others. Admittedly I was concerned because the school's test scores aren't the best but I found that they are working hard, and there has been improvement. And that's with having lost 8 days last year due to budget cuts.

My son has attended his Kindergarten year here and I have found that the teachers/staff genuinely care about the kids. I volunteer and you can see the calm and caring interaction throughout the staff. His kindergarten teacher, Miss Love, is AMAZING..... He has absolutely flourished here.
