We have LOVED this school. Both of my kids went here from K-5th and the teachers are hands down the BEST in the district.

I made so many friend at this school before moving across the country, and I still keep in contact with most of them. I went to This school from kindergarten to 4th grade. and there are some issues that I am not quite sure have been fixed. Let’s start off with my experience in Kindergarten. The teacher I had Slapped me and grabbed kids by the neck multiple times. also, some rules are weird. For example, the flags at lunch. green flag is when you can only whisper. Yellow flag is when you can whisper when you’re done eating. and red flag is when you can’t talk at all. Lunch is time to talk to your friends and be social but that rule is taking that away from us. if you talk during red flag then you have to stay in from after lunch recess and wash tables. Also at recess you had to count to 200 to just get on a swing and some people refused to get off or just didn’t pay attention to the person counting. This school has 2-3 Recesses a day and I liked that a lot. Unlike my school now where you get one recess to none, which is average but I liked that east orient had many times we could be outside. East orient has many fun annual events. Like the Jog-a-thon, Spelling bee, talent show, and sock hop. I’m not sure if this is still a thing, but there was a rotation between “specials” classes. you would have Physical Education for 2 weeks and Music for another 2 weeks. You would go to a different class everyday. For example PE or music on Monday, Computer lab on Wednesday, Library Thursday, then go back to Music or PE on Friday. This school was fun, except for some teachers. In first grade my teacher took a pen and scribbled all over my work and said it wasn’t acceptable. I wish I could come back to this school, although I am in middle school across the country now.

We moved out to this area after kids being in a charter school in Portland. We were initially worried about class sizes because we were used to very small classes. We found out soon that our kids were learning much more in this school. The teachers and staff are amazing and provide a great learning environment. My kids have loved all of their teachers. They are excited about learning and going to school. We are very happy that we stumbled on this sweet school.

We're so excited and pleased that our daughter attends East Orient. From the feeling I had the first time I walked through the front doors, I knew it was a terrific place. The teachers/staff are wonderful and caring. Everyone is happy and cheerful. You can tell that they love what they do, whete they do it. My daughter loves going to east orient every day!

We moved our child here for first grade after a bad charter experience and we wish we had just started here in the first place (and that is what we are doing for our youngest)! Responsive staff, great student body and awesome communication make this school what it is. There is a real sense of community here and my son is thriving in all subjects after a rocky transition emotionally. We have a new principal this year, so that is hard to rate. ;-)

the principal and the teachers and staff at this school are amazing. I have 5 foster children who attend this school, they all have unique issues and needs, some come with major behavioral problems. Everyone has worked with us perfectly in the best interest of the child always and has created a loving and caring and nurturing atmosphere for them to learn. I cannot say enough good things about everyone I have dealt with. Thank You East Orient!
