My family has been at northern for many years now. Principal Weeks continues to ruin the school with her lack of behavioral support. Students have no respect guidelines, no consequences for abhorrent behavior and Weeks has no accountability. The main focus on the school is attendance which leads one to believe the focus of administration is on funding. The school was a happier and more welcoming place when Dr. Richmond was at the head. Weeks seems to be using the elementary school as a stepping stone to be in administration at a higher grade level. It’s just unfortunate for the students under her current military like tenure. Elementary school should be fun, loving and welcoming. None of those things are important or supported by Weeks.

I am a parent of a second-grader, and our experience at Northern since kindergarten has been consistently positive. The teachers guilty care about their students well-being, and the staff members work hard to engage parents and families. We moved to the area in order for my kids to attend Northern schools, and I’ve not been disappointed in that choice at all. Highly recommend.

We have truly enjoyed our experience at NES. From the admin to the teachers, everyone has been lovely!

I am absolutely thrilled with the experience my family has had at Northern Elementary. This elementary school has exceeded our expectations in every way. The leadership is outstanding—principal and staff work seamlessly together to create a nurturing and positive environment for both students and parents. They go the extra mile to engage students in creative ways, especially on spirit days! Communication is top-notch; I always feel informed and connected through regular updates, newsletters, and open lines of communication with teachers. The teachers at Northern are exceptional—caring, thoughtful, and truly dedicated to the success and well-being of each child. They go above and beyond to create a supportive, engaging, and enriching learning environment. It’s clear they are passionate about helping students excel while prioritizing their emotional well-being. What really sets this school apart is the strong sense of community involvement. There are numerous events, volunteer opportunities, and ways for families to get involved, making us feel like part of a close-knit and welcoming school community. The level of support from other parents and the school staff creates a warm and collaborative atmosphere.Northern Elementary is a wonderful place where students thrive, families feel valued, and the community truly works together to support each child’s growth and success. We feel incredibly grateful to be a part of it!

My son is in 4th grade, but this is his first year attending NES. NES has been great for my child, and he is excited to participate in school each day! I'm so thankful to the teachers and staff for making my family feel so welcome and supported.

We could not have chosen a better school for our children. Principal Mrs. Weeks knows the students by name and is engaged in all school activities. The teachers are caring, engaged, and communicative with parents. They really try to instill a love of learning in the students from an early age. Our children pop out of bed each morning, excited to learn and see their friends and grow in a supportive community. We really love Northern.

We love NES. The entire school is welcoming and supportive. Parents are allowed to come in for lunch whenever they want, the door is always open. We have encountered some of the kindest teachers here. Definitely recommend sending your children to this special school!

We are in our second year at NES and have nothing but wonderful things to say about it! The principal and assistant principal are engaged in helping each student feel at home and get what they need from school. All of the teachers and staff that our daughter has encountered have been nothing but supportive, caring, and very competent. They make learning here fun by providing unique experiences. Also, communication is top notch. We are very happy with our choice to come here and would highly recommend the school to anyone considering it.

We moved into the Northern school boundaries from out of state at the beginning of the school year and have noticed a night and day difference in the schools here vs. the ones we left. In just a few months at Northern Elementary School my kids felt right at home, as well as safe and cared for by the teachers and staff. Our kids are being challenged academically and given the tools to meet the challenge and excel. We have three kids in the school. One that has some issues with speech, one with ADHD, and one we suspect has dysgraphia and they have all been receiving the support they need. We are beyond grateful! This is truly a community where we are excited to put down roots and continue to watch our children thrive and grow.

Teachers truly love their students. Admins are involved and know all the kids by name. They walk around and make themselves be seen so that when there is a problem, the kids feel comfortable talking to them. Learning is fun and meaningful! They teach to high standards but make it so fun for the kids. Both of my kids have truly shined here! Best teachers, best administrators, best school around!

As a parent of 2 children who have come through NES, I couldn't be happier with the education they've received. The administration, teachers, PTA, and community are outstanding!

This school has the lowest teacher turnover rate in the county at 2%. This is more than just a school, it is a community. It is wonderful!

This school is AWFUL!!! Unless you want your kids to go to school and watch tv everyday! Such a disappointment!!! If you are moving here for the schools...QUICK!!! get into another school district!! Overcrowding is also an issue.
