I have gone to the school for three years and I’m currently in eighth grade and this has been the worst three years of my entire life. The teachers are horrible, they dont care about your education or feeling at all. The bullying and drama here is outrageous and no matter who you go to even if its doctor brown they will do nothing about it because “if we didnt see it then theres no proof it happened”. The teachers talk to the students any way they want, they say rude and hurtful things, laugh at them, and insult their intelligence as if theyre not the ones who are supposed to be teaching us correctly. Most but not all of the teachers are LAZY, all they do is read off the board and then when you ask for help they treat you like youre stupid or refuse to help you. In 7th grade we had a horrible math teacher and missed out on a whole year of math and now were in algebra 1 and barely know what were doing because doctor brown chose not to do anything about it. Doctor brown has an absolute favoritism issue; you can go to her about a student bullying you and if she likes that student she will not interfere and if shes in the mood she’ll even try and tell you that youre the problem. Even looking at how the younger students are treated im highly surprised that the school hasnt been shut down, theyve been hit, pushed, insulted, bullied, and even cussed at by teachers. My mother has tried to get in contact with doctor brown and never gets a response. DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE!!

We did not have a good experience at all at this school. Everyday I was getting a text or a call about how my child was being a disruption in class. He never attended school before and he is the only younger child in the house, so he never got to be around other kids his age and interact with them. All this was new to him, but this school wanted him to come in knowing what everyone else knew and doing what they did. They did not have patience with him at all. The communication was lacked as well. This school is just a name, it is a terrible school. My son now goes to his assigned school and is thriving in all they said he wasn't at Summit Creek. I feel much better now with my son in a new school. I have spoke with several other parents that pulled their kids out of Summit as well some in the middle of the school year. Please do your homework on this school before you send your child.

Our family absolutely loves this school! Our son enjoys attending and has developed a strong interest in learning and growing academically. From his general education teacher to the specials teachers, principal, dean, and all the staff, it truly feels like home. The school’s environment is rooted in care, integrity, and a genuine dedication to each student. We deeply appreciate their emphasis on moral focus and character development, which complements the academic excellence they strive for. It’s evident that the entire staff loves what they do, and their passion shines through each day.As a parent, it gives me great peace of mind knowing my son is in a safe and nurturing environment where he is not only well cared for but also encouraged to thrive.

Terrible. It was not like I thought it would be for my child. Some teachers are wonderful, some yell all the time. Teachers lack support. My child was accused for things they did not do and did not feel emotionally safe at this school. There is zero support for behavior. The behavior plan in place is not effective. There is high teacher turnover which is a red flag there are admin issues. If this environment was great as it claims to be then more people would want to stay.

The administration does not care about the well being and safety of children. Bullying is a big problem. Nothing is done. It’s a if we didn’t see it it didn’t happen school. The teacher yell at the kids all the time. iEPs are not followed. There are a few amazing teachers but there are some terrible ones too. admin is horrible. Do not send your kids here.

This School is horrible. My child has came home almost every day crying because of bullies+teachers. The school has done NOTHING. Also, Every year, 2 or 3 teachers leave. My scholar has been here for 3 years and 2 of thoose 3 years a teacher of hers left. Uniform is another thing, the uniforms are tight and itchy. They can wear any other sweater/Or jacket besides navy, My child is cold and they are (once again) doing NOTHING. DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILD IN THIS SCHOOL!!!!!!!

This school is not the best for me at all and the uniforms is what I really don't like. Can they at least give us like Friday to wear no unifrom. The dress code for jackets and sweaters are just unbelievable.Like bro it's just a coat. And the teachers here are just bad it is just so disopointing to go to this school.

This school has some serious issues from the top. It is worse than the public schools. We thought this was going to be better for our kid but it is actually worse. Place is not run right. There are serious issues so even the good teachers trying can't do anything to help these kids. Awful. We hoped it would be good but no. Test scores keep dropping. Who are they picking to go here? Bullies, bad kids, trouble causers. Sad.

Completely disappointed with this school as a whole! Administration is horrible! They do not follow the handbook nor are they like their sister schools at all! I do not recommend this school! I am not a new mother I have grown children and grandchildren as well as school age children I have been through the guilford county school system I have also homeschooled for three years! I had great expectations from this place and this is so disheartening.....

I was so sadden to see negative reviews about Summit Creek. They are the furthest from the truth. Carpool is always safe and that is top priority and Dr. Brown is the best principal anyone could ask for. She is responsive and loves these children.

I thought this was going to be a good school for my child. Leadership is lacking and communication is non existent. The teachers can’t handle the kids. If your child has an IEP don’t bother to send them here. They do not follow the IEP accommodations. I send emails and use class dojo to communicate with the teachers and sometimes I get no reply back until days later or no reply at all. I have texted leadership and made phone calls and no reply back. Dr Brown gives out her cell but doesn’t respond back half the time. The school has a high turnover rate with the teachers. Half the teachers from last year left. It was said that the teachers are certified but I question that. The Deans don’t carry out their roles in the school. The school is unorganized no structure at all. The car rider line is very dangerous. Parental involvement is lacking as well. They really don’t like letting the parents into the school. It’s not because Of Covid either. Do not send your child here.

To say that this school has "heart" more so than other schools is subjective at best. "Heart cannot be measured", but I will say there are many more instances of bullying and children being suspended for misconduct than other schools in the area. So more heart....sure. Lastly Principal Brown showed alot of attitude but I would not say it was positive. I witnessed first hand her level of anger towards her staff when screaming at one in particular in drive line. The staff member was so upset they left in the middle of drive line to go inside. Not positive att all. Prospective parents, do your OWN research. While this school doesn't have grade posted yet on great schools, you can measure their success by doing other research.

This is our son's 2nd year at Summit Creek Academy. Communication has always been open with the parents. As a parent, you have to be available to help promote your child's education, and Summit Creek Academy has multiple ways of communicating with the parents and programs to get the parents involved. Principal Brown and her staff exhibit positive attitudes toward the children. Summit Creek Academy is not like the other schools in our district which is a GREAT plus in my book. Our school has heart, which is missing in so many schools.

My husband and I have been extremely satisfied since our child started here. Communication has been excellent and we are pleased with the progress our child is making. The teachers have all been wonderful and supportive.

I was so very excited when we got the call that we had a seat at this school because we had been on the waiting list for the sister school for over a year and a half.

It would be too time-consuming to tell prospective parents/families everything that's wrong with this school. Here are just a few highlights: consistent teacher turnover, lack of leadership, teachers forced to cater to below average students in favor of helping those who are actually trying, limited (virtually, no) parent involvement, and consistent under-performance. For a school that attempted to replicate the success of other NHA schools in the area (Greensboro Academy and Summerfield Charter Academy), Summit Creek Academy fell straight on their face. If you value your child's education and ability to be academically challenged, don't send them to Summit Creek Academy.

I recently resigned from this school after a very challenging year with administration. I would not recommend this school to any family. Safety procedures are not followed. For example: you may or may not have a fire drill or tornado drill. This school struggles greatly with filling positions all year, staff turnover was astronomical for a first year school. Dishonesty, Disorganization, rude front office staff, subs who simply sat in classrooms but did not give any assignments. Some days seem more like babysitting. I believe the school board and DPI should investigate this school. K-2 IEPs we’re followed to a T. 3-5 students were severely underserved, and accommodations not followed. I encourage families to choose another option for your family.
