We are very blessed to have Shelton as our home school. The community is very inclusive and the teachers and staff are top notch! Both my daughter and son have thrived at Shelton. The whole environment is welcoming and you couldn't ask for better school grounds and classrooms.

Shelton has been a fantastic school for my son. It is such a welcoming community with engaged teachers, parents, and PTSA. We have been so grateful for the consistency of teachers, wraparound services, inclusive environment, and academic projects. Like another reviewer said, Shelton is a hidden gem!

The STEM and project based learning the students do at Shelton has been great. Beautiful campus and views. One of the most lovely schools in Jeffco. Love the international flags in the library. They represent all the countries students have come from. Shelton is a hidden gem.

We moved to this community specifically so our kids could attend Shelton Elementary. Every aspect of the school has been amazing. The teachers are caring and supportive and innovative, the administrative team keeps everything running smoothly, and my kids are excited to go to school every day and learn. The school supports them emotionally as well as academically, and makes sure that physical and mental wellness is part of the curriculum.The PTSA is very active and makes sure that the students have a wide variety of opportunities to be part of the school community outside of the school day: before and after school enrichment clubs, school drama club, Walk and Bike to school days, Math and Science night, International Night...the list goes on. We couldn't be happier with the elementary school experience at Shelton.

What an amazing community! The teachers are not only amazing at teaching academics but also active in the school’s efforts to build whole people, through social emotional development, engaging before and after school activities and a thriving program of seasonal programs. There’s something for everyone here to find where they thrive. I never knew schools like this existed and I am beyond grateful that we found this one!

Shelton has such a fantastic community and wonderful, supportive staff. This school has been able to make special accommodations for my child's advanced learning plan and makes a great effort to include all people within the community. Shelton has a great AMP (Art, Music, PE) department with award winning teachers that stay on site all the time. I would definitely recommend!

Our kids have thrived at Shelton. We have had some truly amazing teachers, and the community is very strong. If you dig into the school ratings, you will find that the test scores have more to do with demographics (particularly income) than with the quality of the education. But we think there is a lot of value in having our children attend a more diverse school and this will better prepare them for their future.Unfortunately, it's very difficult to get into the preschool since #s are limited, but the preschool teachers have boundless enthusiasm and provide an extremely warm environment with lots of play-to-learn focus. The grade school teachers are also extremely dedicated and skillful. They are great at providing differentiated learning so that if a student is excelling or struggling in a subject area, they'll receive extra opportunities for growth. There is a big focus on social skills and emotional well-being, and the staff really cares about the students. Plus, the art, music, and PE teachers are awesome and go out of their way to provide 'bonus' opportunities for the kids beyond the classroom.We truly love Shelton and feel lucky that our kids get to attend.

This school is fantastic. We have two kids -- one who has been here since Kindergarten (now in 5th grade) and one who is in 2nd grade. Even though my older child tested into GT programs, we opted to keep her at Shelton given the great culture here and their ability to challenge even GT students. The new principal is fantastic and the culture of the school -- which initially won me over five years ago -- remains extremely strong. Also, Shelton has a really impressive social emotional program and staff, which our kids have benefitted from.

Shelton has been a wonderful fit for our family. My son and daughter have been here since Kindergarten and they are not in 5th and 3rd grade. We feel very lucky that Shelton is our neighborhood school. The staff put a high value on outdoor learning. The school garden is one of the best in the district. We feel very connected to the staff and parent community. Teachers have been wonderful providing extensions and enrichments for our kids to make sure they stay engaged and challenged. Our son's teachers have made the ALP (Advanced Learning Plan) a meaningful process each year. Our kids love the extra enrichment classes like: choir, drama club, art club. My son is really enjoying learning to play the violin through orchestra. We are very happy with Shelton and would recommend Shelton to any family.

We started here at the very beginning of the pandemic, so it is hard to compare it to previous years. However, my son was recently diagnosed with ADHD and his teachers and the nurse have been great with working with me through the whole process. My daughter was having issues with friends last year and they worked to help them figure out appropriate ways to work through their disagreements, play, ect. I thought it was a fantastic way to teach them the proper skills. I really wish we had dome something like that when I was in school.The school also have really fun programs throughout the year for the kids, and for families. Both of my children had discovered activities that they really enjoy because they got to 'try them out" through a school program. Shelton encourages parental involvement and has a ton of options, both during the school day and after school/work.We love Shelton.

My family and I love Shelton elementary! I have nothing but positive things to say about this awesome school. Parents involvement makes this school even better! Most families put alot of effort into building a strong community at Shelton. The science fair, International night, and ELF are a few of my favorite things at Shelton. My kids are counting the days until school starts because they miss attending class.

Exceptional. They hold all children accountable and make sure instruction is rigorous and meets their individual needs. School is also fun and the students love being there.

Shelton is an great school with equally amazing and hard working teachers, administrators, and staff. The school works as a team with a common goal of reaching and extending each student's potential and creating a community of learners. My son was there for 2 years, and this is my daughter's 3rd year. We will miss the Shelton community as we move on to middle school next year. I honestly believe the comments and ratings below mine are an anomaly.

This is my daughter's 4th year going the Shelton. I really worried about her last year in Third grade but she got through it. The teachers work really hard to get your kids in the right classroom the next year based on their performance the previous year. My daughter has friends from many different countries. There are an overwhelming amount of activities for children to be involved in from choir to various clubs. Their art teacher is amazing! And the PTSA is very strong. The school communicates with families about everything. The principal is great and the teachers my daughter has had have been great. Shelton have a fantastic team!

It is a wonderful school. My son was in KG and he is entering 1st Grade.He was in Mr. Miller class. He loves his teacher so much and he followed all his instructions.Mr Miller is a very professional and friendly teacher, because of him my son and all his friends love this school and they always appreciate Mr. Miller for his hard work.

Shelton provides a great balance between academic rigor and other enrichment activities. It has provided our kids with an opportunity to be exposed to some of the important diversity represented by our community, which is helping them to grow into well rounded young adults. Great communication between parents, teachers, and staff.

Shelton is remarkably diverse in a state where it can be hard to find diversity. Better yet, the school encourages learning from the diversity. The result is a place that emphasizes education as well as kindness and tolerance. And all while winning awards for academic excellence!
