All 3 of my children have attended this school. Since attending I have watched them all grow academically with in the first year. The teachers help your child learn at their own pace/style and make sure that your child has all the tools necessary for success. They have lots of small group time so that each child gets the attention they need. The principal Mrs. Tarpley has made such an impact on the school! All the kids and parents love and respect her. She makes sure she gets out of the office just to be able to connect with everyone daily. There is lots of social gatherings or fundraisers to be able to participate in! All in all we love this school and would love for our kids to be able to go here forever!

My god daughter goes to this school. She has been having ongoing problems with another student that has not been resolved whatsoever. The staffs do not care and yet the "seem" to care but do nothing about it. They have paused her attendance there at the school, but the other girl is actively still going yet she is the one causing problem. Very unprofessional. Avoid enrolling your students at this school at all costs. Ask around, not very many good things people say about it.

The institution has demonstrated remarkable achievements across various academic disciplines. My daughter has experienced significant progress since enrolling here. The level of family engagement is commendable, as they maintain excellent communication channels with parents. The school has prioritized the safety of my children by employing a school resource officer to ensure their protection against potential threats. Furthermore, the institution has provided invaluable support for my children's educational and emotional well-being.

Both of my boys attend Welchester, and for the most part we absolutely love it! My youngest is in the kindergarten program, and his teacher goes above and beyond what she needs to and my son is really excelling! My oldest has been there for almost 4 years and he really loves it as well, though he has a 504 and when he falls behind his current teacher doesn't implement his tools from his 504 which is frustrating. One thing that is concerning at this school is there has been violent bullying and there isn't much that has been done about it. I don't know if it's jeffco policy or what. But over all we are very happy that our boys attend Welchester Elementary.

My daughter has been attending Welchester for about three years now. Every teacher and staff member has been absolutely wonderful. She was on a reading plan in first grade and everyone was so wonderfully invested - she came off of it the following year. We couldn't ask for a better school.

Over the course of the last 8 years, I have had experience with four elementary schools in Jeffco and Welchester is by far the best! The community that grows from this school is like no other, it feels like family. The teachers are attuned to every students needs and learning style, they adapt to their students needs and support them in ways that I will forever be grateful for. The remaining staff are just as important and supportive to the kiddos, with the help from the amazing paras, librarian, custodial staff, lunch staff, front office, clinic nurse, family engagement liaison, and volunteers, every child is loved and supported, making Welchester a welcoming community. The social emotional aspect at Welchester goes above and beyond. My children have learned coping skills, how to manage conflict and learn to process their big feelings. Don’t let the test scores fool you, these kids are making leaps and bounds when it comes to their educational growth. They learn to try their best, be independent, responsible, and take initiative. Welchester won Governor Polis’ Bright Spot award for the 2022-2023 school year and are also the first Jeffco school to receive the PLC award (Professional learning community). My oldest left Welchester, ready for middle school with the tools to stay organized, advocate for herself, and believe in her ability to succeed. We currently choice enroll at Welchester because I believe this school is the stepping stone to my children’s success and happiness. My children are growing into happy, thriving little humans because of the love and support that pours out from all of those involved in making Welchester such an amazing school.

We have been apart of welchester for 5 years and have enjoyed every moment of it. The teachers are amazing they listen to what each child needs and helps them achieve many goals. Welchester might be a smaller community but it helps for smaller classroom sizes more one on one with students. It gives each student a chance to grow at their own pace!

I am writing my review based from my child's point of view , she attends Welchester's remote learning due to COVID and this is what she had to say : " I think my class is the BEST, my classmates are the best! My teachers are very kind, thoughtful and smart and feel like I have learned a lot! The teacher's use letter writing , finger writing, and sounds, numbers and letters. They read to us and we do art- MY FAVORITE! Somedays I feel happy, sad and some days I feel sick and overwhelmed but the teacher's always show me kindness and are proud of me. " her teacher's are Mr.Ritz and Mrs. Fish. As a mother her reaction to school made me happy and I also feel like she is getting her needs met in the best way remote class can allow them to be met. Also ,as a mother I had my concerns , my daughter has been diagnosed with : ADHA,OCD, Tourett's syndrome, anxiety, depression, left frontal lobe focal disorder, sensory processing disorder, anterograde memory disorder, somatosensory perceptive processing disorder, executive dysfunctioning disorder, dysautonomia, cardovascular autonomic dysfunction , detusor sphincter dyssynergia, epilepsy and a rare form of a neurologic disease.( along with on going test and treatment)This all being said we had a few meeting and test were given by the school , in conclusion due to her being in remote school she was not fit for an IEP. I understood because my daughter was in my care and not much else could be said. My daughter was getting her needs met outside of school and there was no arguing with that?My daughter misses quite a bit of school and I can see she struggles to catch up BUT the staff and teacher's have all been kind and understanding towards Emma's needs and are always willing to go the extra step for her.( Due to the teachers being uninformed of my daughter's needs at the beginning things were rocky and transition needed to set in and take place for trust and growth to form for all parties )We thank them for their patients and understanding in hopes to build a greater foundation in the future for all kids who have needs.Thank you these trying times, as COVID has proven to be difficult in all aspects in running a school in such unorthodox times.keep up the good work !

The student population at this school is challenging. Combined that with an ineffective principal and you have the worst elementary school in Golden. I'd choice enroll at another school if I had the resources to do so.

We tried for three years to turn our experience into something positive. We got involved as much as we were allowed to, and were essentially snubbed every step of the way. I used to get political with people about how these websites and test scores aren’t what really makes a good school. I would argue that we should all get involved with our neighborhood schools and work to make them better. Unfortunately, that just doesn’t seem possible. The more I try, the more I am forced to fear reconciliation for my child. Unless you are willing to keep quiet and settle for a less than mediocre elementary school education for your child, I highly recommend seeking out an alternative.

Five stars (out of five) in my book. We just transferred from a bad school experience and came into this wonderfully refreshing excellent school and support system. Thank you for being such a wonderful school for us to land in. We travel farther just to have our kids here and we wouldn’t change that a bit. We feel lucky to have found Welchester.

Disappointing. The principal is more interested in window dressing than solving significant disciplinary problems at school.

Welchester's current principal has little to no effective communications skills. This causes problems to get way bigger than they need to be or simply swept under the rug and ignored.

I am a parent of a 4th grader at Welchester. I am also a Welchester Alumni. It is amazing how many kids I went to school with that now have their children attending Welchester. I think it speaks to what a great school and great community Welchester is. My student has never had a complaint about the school. While each teacher has their own approach they are all patient and kind. This is our first year with our new Principal, Ms. Robinson, and she is absolutely OUTSTANDING!! She respects the kids, teachers, and parents. I really like that she does not speak down to students. She communicates respectfully and on their level. PTA does some amazing things for the school. A chili cook-off/silent auction in the fall, santa shop at the holidays, bookfairs, donut breakfasts for parents and grandparents twice a year, and an end of year carnival. PTA is successful at this school because there is a lot of parent involvement. I would strongly suggest Welchester to other families without a single hesitation. We LOVE it!!

My son has been at this school for 3 years, my nephew for 6 and I have a younger sister who attended this school several years back. It is a wonderful school with some amazing teachers and Mrs Rosie in the office is beyond stellr with the children and the parents.

I am so thankful to have Welchester as my teaching home. I am continually amazed at how hard each person in our building works to ensure that our kids are being pushed to their potential. Over the last few years we have spent many hours focusing on differentiation, engagement strategies, higher level questioning, and math workshop. Focusing on what is best for students has always been our focus. I can honestly say, I work among the best teachers and staff in Jefferson County, our staff is very collaborative and we work hard to learn from each other and challenge each other to achieve our goals. There is a great sense of shared leadership in our building. As a team we strive to give every student in our building the best education possible.
