Since becoming an academy two years ago, Bright is amazing! They encourage and truly love the kids well!

The school heavily focuses on behavior, to a toxic extent, and even despite that, I still hear of bullying going on inside the classrooms. For a school with such poor scores and where at least half of the kids are low income, why is the third week of school focused on college??!? Half these kids won't go to college, not to mention, this is an elementary school - why not have a week dedicated to what the third graders are up to? They are so hellbent on being distinguished and calling themselves an "academy", but it's all smoke and mirrors; what they're really focused on is making sure children toe the line, sit quietly at their desks, and buy in to the hype. No, thanks, I've seen too many awesome elementary schools and private schools to keep my precocious kinder kiddo anywhere near Bright.

This is the worst school in terms of discipline and education.

The teachers, staff and principals are FABULOUS however there are three large low income/section 8 housing units that feed into this school and it has brought too much behavioral and disciplinary issues. Teachers are overwhelmed with students who can barely speak english let alone perform at the required grade level. My child will be transferring to a different school next year. The staff is amazing and we love them however the school environment is not healthy and safe.

This is my first year in Frisco and so far I believe this is a Great school! Teachers are very nice and helpful to the students and communicate with parents at all times. No complaints!!

There seems to be very little parental involvement at the school. The administrative staff seems good, but I worry that the kids aren't learning. One of my children used to love school and now hates going, due mostly to bullying (and I mean real, physical bullying, not just normal "kids being kids") and misbehavior. It is a low SES environment, which may contribute. There also seems to be difficulty in teacher retention.
