GCA is the best school I have ever gone to. I love it!

I have always felt very welcomed and supported at this school! The teachers and staff are very friendly and are great people as well as excellent educators. I admire that they are passionate about what they teach, which makes it exciting to experience a new day at the school! GCA is basically like a second family to me, where I can enjoy Christ-centered relationships with those around me.

This school is small enough to feel like a family. My five year old is well-known among all the lower school and upper school kids, as well as the teachers. She frequently gets attention and love from all of them. I never worry that she might get lost in the halls or feel lost in a sea of students as it appears to happen in other schools. Administration has built this school from the ground up in a labor of love. They have sacrificed many things including income to keep it running and obtain the best teachers they can. They give teachers a raise every year. I think the teachers are paid better than the administration. Nevertheless, since most teachers work part-time, the teachers must also be there out of commitment to the school's philosophy and mission. Most teachers at GCA that I know love teaching there because the students are so cooperative and respectful and eager to learn, and the parents are super involved and supportive. Home days can be hard, with lots of homework assigned. You definitely have to be committed to continue there as a parent. But imagine a group of families who are willing to have one parent stay home and be their child's tutor 2-3 days a week. That is dedication and love. The kids really turn out great. I will also note that if your child is advanced, you have plenty of time to do advanced homework with them on home days, and if they are behind, you can catch them up on home days. There is a lot of flexibility there. Sometimes I get tired of parenting and helping my child learn. Sometimes I look at 5-day schools because it sounds so much easier. But then I see big crowds of kids and massive halls and I just think, I can't throw her into a cold crowd like that when she has the option to be surrounded by family. The sacrifices are worth it for the safety and security of your children, and to see them flourish.

My son went to school for 4 classes (2 weeks) at the beginning of the school year. We were not happy with how it was going; it was not the right school for him. I informed the school he would no longer be attending and needed to withdrawal. They told me I was financially responsible for paying for the entire school year. I was never informed of this and to that they said it was in the print, along with various other info, about the school...of which I obviously did not see. So, my son went to that school 4 times in total. We paid nearly $1000 on application fees, enrollment fees, school books and a uniform (only attended 4 days, total, of school) and the school has continued to withdrawal tuition from my bank account EVERY month (for the last 8 months). READ THE FINE PRINT! KNOW YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR REGARDLESS OF YOUR SATISFACTION WITH THE SCHOOL.

This school administration is a bunch of two faced people.

5 stars. Very happy we decided to look into and pursue this model of education.

We love GCA! It is a an excellent University Model School! The teaching staff is top notch and highly qualified. Many of them have Masters degrees as well. The school atmosphere is amazing! We have found it to be very supportive, loving, grace filled, and safe for all students and families! The teachers are amazing with their students and partner with us parents to provide an education that undoubtedly exceeds other educational institutions in the area. Due to the fact that this is a University Model School, parents are a part of the education and learning process. This is a big plus as it allows us parents to be hands on with our children's learning and stay connected with our children throughout their education. It's also a big commitment/investment and takes time and work on the part of the parent. When we as parents are fully committed to this education model and to the school, our students will have great success! For those parents that want the school to do everything for them or who cannot make a full commitment/investment to this educational model, this is likely not a good fit. I have found that GCA and the UMS model of education is the perfect fit for those of us who want to leave the 'rat race; of the 5 day public & private schools and to be more involved with our children each day. GCA is a private Christian school where Christ is at the center of all that is done from the administration down to the volunteers. My children have had the opportunity to build their faith each day while on campus through their completion of the bible, world view, and apologetics classes. All of the curriculum is biblical world view and the academic quality is above and beyond. My children are consistently challenged academically and will no doubt be well prepared for their college and university level programs after high school graduation. We are very pleased with our experience here at GCA and highly recommend our school to those parents who are looking to fully invest in their child's education.

My comments for each category is below. We love GCA. It has been just what our family need to beat the craziness of this culture and regroup as a family. we are closer to each other and closer to the Lord. GCA is challenging but does not provide make the kids do a bunch of useless worksheets to keep them busy. They also do not give state testing. All their teaching is purposeful and Christ-Centered.

We attended this school. We left and enrolled somewhere else and my kid was behind. The teachers try hard but this school doesn't pay teachers good so they just take what they can get. The real issues are with administration. They toss around the threat of suspension to keep kids in line, even for things that make you wonder why in the world they would suspend for things that normal school just deal with. They say they are anti-bullying and anti snobby behavior but they don't act on it when they see it or are told about it...especially the snobby part. The uniforms are expected at a private school but at GCA you have to order from only one store and you have to have the logo stuff. It is very expensive. After paying for tuition, books (which is always a hassle because you have to track down your own books and sometimes the school is not clear on what edition you need to by), uniforms, and hidden costs....you might as well go to a 5 day school for the price. I liked our teacher and I felt she tried hard but I got the impression that the school admin doesn't do a good job supporting there teachers. I was sad it did not work out but when I heard from some upper school parents that it was even worse for there kids...I new I had to leave before my kid was in secondary.

We currently attend this school. On the home days when the teacher gives us homework for the child to do at home there are a lot of times the teacher forgets to send assignments. The homework will say do this worksheet, but that worksheet is not there. The teacher will send an email saying sorry I forgot to send that, but then will not attach the assignment so the child doesn't have the homework. This happens quite a lot. At one time it was happening at least once a week. I think it is particular to this teacher. It is frustrating.

Don't be fooled by the name. This school does not show a Christ like attitude but judges children. It is a shame because as a Christian who has been counseling children and families it breaks my heart. This school needs to get educated themselves on how to treat and help children. Do not send your children to this school.

This school has been such a blessing for our family and we know God has placed us exactly where we need to be! Grace Covenant Academy has given us support, encouragement, and a family with the same values and convictions that we have. Our children have grown tremendously in all areas, and so have we. I cannot say enough great things about this school!

GCA is a phenomenal school! I have never been around a group of teachers and administrators that care more about students and their families. Three of my children attended the school last year, and each teacher made themselves available to me anytime I had a question or concern. And my kiddos LOVED it!It is a University Model school, which means students attend class on Tuesday & Thursday, and then a parent homeschools them on Mon/Wed/Friday. The school sets the curriculum and assignments and on each home day, you simply download the assignment sheets and go from there. I cannot recommend this school enough! If you are considering private or homeschooling, I hope you will check it out. It has been a major blessing to our family, and I think it would be for yours too.
