Don’t Be Misled by Rankings or Past ReviewsWhile FISD may be highly ranked, individual schools like Cobb don't reflect that ranking. Don’t be misled by parents who praise the school—they may no longer be dealing with the challenges their children faced. Cobb has serious issues with racial inequality, mistreatment, and a lack of care for students’ well-being.Despite some decent staff members, Cobb is plagued by discriminatory practices. Students who are well-behaved and have no history of discipline problems are still targeted and harassed daily by staff. This treatment is unacceptable.Currently, in dangerously cold weather with temperatures feeling like -15°F and a power outage, the district is forcing students to attend school instead of allowing them to stay home for safety. This shows that the district values attendance and funding over the safety of its students. If they truly cared, they would prioritize health over bureaucratic concerns.Racial inequality is a pervasive issue at Cobb. If you want what's best for your child, you should consider how this school treats students unfairly, especially students of color. This school’s negligence and mistreatment should not be ignored, and no child should have to endure this.

The principal at this location is awful, we had an issue here and the principal did not respond to emails, picked up the calls when she felt like it, and also ignored in person visits making us sit for 1 hour in the lobby before seeing us for 15 seconds in her room before dismissing a serious situation. I have been bullied here extensively, and while the assistant principals and teachers have done everything they can, god bless them, the main administrator/principal has given no effort whatsoever in maintaining the peace and wellbeing of this school and only cares about showing her authority to students by giving harsh punishments and not caring about their safety. So many teachers have left year after year due to the disrespect of the current principal, and so many students dread going to school because of her. Every single teacher (even counselors) who I had in 6th grade have all left this school.

My son had two great years there. Teachers were great, school system was perfect, he really loved the school. The Community next to the school is also great and safe. Our son made a lot of friends. Would absolutely recommend Cobb middle school!

Horrible school with horrendous administration and support staff. People wonder why all the teachers are leaving this school year after year, so reread the first sentence. The teachers try, but when a school has bad leadership, this is what happens.

I just graduated from Cobb but was very disappointed with the school environment in general. I'm actually a rezoned student from a 10/10 school so I saw a lot of differences between that school and between Cobb. The rating is very true and it speaks for itself of how the school really is. There were a lot of fights, hitting, harassment, disrespect, racial slurs etc. The staff was also disrespectful to some of the teachers and the teachers were also fed up with the students as they were very disrespectful. The new teachers aren't very good either as they take teaching very lightly. There's also many juvie goers from this school as they send very violent threats to students, teachers and subs. Racial slurs go around freely without consequences and also, some teachers cuss when they can't control the students. The school takes discipline lightly with dress code and consequences. I would not recommend this school.

I got bullied in the 7th grade and no one did anything about it. the children are crazy, so much so they had to be removed from class. Cobb was the worst school I have ever been to. the teachers do nothing to teach and have no desire for their students. i had a horrible time here and I do not plan to ever go back.

This school is like many others in the district and most of the problems are really first world problems, like students opposing cell phones policies and opposing being held accountable for their own choices when breaking school rules.

Can't ask for more in terms of a public school

i got bullied in 6th grade and they solved my problems very fast. i enjoyed most of my experience. I think the teachers did an amazing job. i made all of my friends here and the orchestra teacher was amazing he taught me everything i needed to know. i do think some of the teachers could explain some things better. i recommend this school it is a great experience.

If your child has an IEP or 504 I would not recommend this school. The staff lacks the proper training or desire for these children to succeed. They only care about test scores no focus on teaching life/social skills, or molding good people. The staff lacks compassion and does not live up to FISD standards, they do not know every student by name and need nor does the leadership care.

Classes are large, 28 plus per class and many students display disrespectful behaviors toward other students and staff members. The school would be a nicer place to learn if poor student behaviors were addressed promptly and effectively.

Administration lacks compassion and is only concerned with how harshly they can reprimand students. It's very unfortunate.

The principal and staff not only support learning and growth academically in the classroom, they support character, integrity, and honesty in all areas of students' lives. We have had a child in the school since it opened seven years ago and have watched the campus grow in beautiful ways through the years. We are treasuring our final two years there with our youngest son!

Wonderful teachers and staff, they really care about the students well being and academic progress. My son had so much support when he had to transition from another school distric to FISD, everyone was involved from the counselor to every teacher and made sure he succeded. Thanks Cobb!

Since the new Principal has arrived I have heard (and experienced) nothing but difficult incidents. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone. As a matter of fact, I am seriously thinking of removing my son and homeschooling.

We love Cobb. It is in its fifth year and I have had at least one student at Cobb since it opened. The office and administration are all wonderful. The principal is just the best. You are never going to love all the teachers but I feel like some of the lemons foisted upon the school at opening have been weeded out. I couldn't be happier with my daughters teachers this year. The parents at Cobb are very, very involved. Probably annoy the teachers but it is just one of those communities. We are originally from the Midwest and have moved around a bit and I couldn't be happier with Cobb.
