Excellent school and excellent leadership. My daughter has been stratford kid since pre-school. She is in 8th now. Currently at fremont Osgood campus and we are thoroughly happy with the teaches and leaders there at the school. Would highly recommend the campus.

Stratford is owned by a company, and therefore, they focus more on their profits than they did on my education. I remember many investors coming around campus to see if they would invest in our school. Stratford has a teacher problem. One year, when my sibling attended Stratford, he had FOUR DIFFERENT TEACHERS throughout the school year. As a result of this, his entire class learned very little and all their grades were very poor. I had a teacher that would change my test answers, and the school administration didn’t do anything about it. The teacher would erase my correct answers and replace them with wrong ones. And when my parents notified the school, they DID NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. There are little good teachers at Stratford in general. When I started in preschool, all the teachers were great and welcoming, and they taught very well. Ss the time passed, many of the good teachers were sent to other campuses and inexperienced teachers were brought into the Fremont Campus. Stratford offers little to no after-school activities for students. During my time at Stratford, the only three afterschool activities were chess, debate, and math olympiad. There was an after school daycare, but one would have to pay a huge amount of money for it. I also did not have the ability to enjoy a nice P.E. class. Stratford has a basketball court, but it is not maintained properly and there are many holes in in. Adding to this, Stratford doesn't have a track or field. The fields surrounding the campus are owned by the city.Stratford boasts only one school “auditorium”. It is a small and stuffy room where shows are held and students eat their lunch. For the 20,000 per year that my parents paid for my education, I wish Stratford would spend in on enriching the student’s comfort instead of pleasing their investors.

The students are completely of average ability and the teachers are average ability, but they assign an advanced curriculum that is too complicated for the students, then blame the teachers when the students cannot handle the advanced curriculum. Interestingly, on the Stratford School websites there is an emphasis on how long the principals and teachers have worked in education, but no mention is made of any of the schools they attended or their graduate degrees or institutions. Are their graduate schools so bad that they have to be hidden from public view? Do they have any doctorates on their entire staff? Do any of the teachers or principals even have master's degrees? It does not look like they do. The website emphasis is on experience over credentials or higher education, just like businesses emphasize business experiences over higher education training. I have taught middle school students who had stronger communication skills, so perhaps they could handle this advanced curriculum. But the current students enrolled at this school cannot handle this curriculum. The principal is very conventional and the whole school operates on a standardized and cookie-cutter basis where every teacher uses the same standardized curriculum. To apply for a job, they make the teachers jump through multiple hoops. First, the applicants have to take a grammar and mathematics quiz. Grammar is VERY IMPORTANT at this school! Second, the applicants have to write an essay about the topic of where education in the 21st century is going. Third, the applicants have to give a teaching demonstration under very artificial conditions. At the same time, applicants interview for the positions. The principal had no idea what position he was interviewing me for, and he did not know any of the details of the position or the school where I'd be teaching if I got the job. This school is very standardized and cookie-cutter. They do NOT think about differentiation in classroom teaching. True to this cookie cutter approach, I received a rejection form letter. They do not bother with an individual touch, apparently. The look of the school is very square, shiny, box-like, and corporate in keeping with the standardized, corporate mentality.

Our experience at Stratford School has been outstanding. My child has attended the Fremont Blvd. campus for 3 years (2 years of preschool, 1 year of pre-K), and we have decided to continue our son at this campus for Kindergarten because the overall experience has been wonderful for not only us as parents, but for our child. My child has loved every teacher he has had at this school. His homeroom teachers have all been genuinely caring and thoughtful. He gets excited about when he gets to see his resource teachers (Music, Science, and Spanish). He has built great relationships with all of them, and we frequently stop by to say hi to his past homeroom teachers to give them hugs.As a parent, I love the curriculum here. I love that the children get music, art, science, and Spanish in addition to the reading, writing, and math. I love that reading, writing, and math skills they learn are practical. For example, they learn how to count money, tell time using an analog clock, and learn most concepts through songs so that they retain the information. Yes, the curriculum does push your child at an early age. However, my son has done extremely well at this pace of learning, and at 5, can read most sight words and 3 letter words. He now reads basic “Step into Reading, Step 1” books with little to no help. We do read a lot at home, but the curriculum at Stratford has really helped to excel the pace of his learning.Another thing I love, love, love about the program for preschool and pre-K are the Winter and Spring recitals they put on for the parents. The teachers and children work really hard all year long to put these magical performances together for the parents, and it is such a joy to have seen my child sing and perform through all 3 years. I’ve really seen him grow into a wonderful performer. I was referred to Stratford 3 years ago by one of our health care providers who also sends her children to another Stratford School, and I’ve never regretted or have been disappointed with our choice. It definitely is an investment to send your child to Stratford, but it has been absolutely worth it for our family.

In general the school is great with a good curriculum it may be better if parents were also given some participation in the school's intention for their children's development to achieve the optimum growth a child can have.

My son started Preschool since he was 3 yrs. old and we are very impressed on their curriculum. He is now in Pre K and going to kindergated in fall. So far we are very happy with stratford. It's worth your money and the teachers are great they really take care of the children. I am very impressed with what my son had learned since Preschool. They are very advanced and they have outstanding with academics. I will definitely recommend this school if they can afford it.

My daughter was in the first kindergarten class in the Fremont campus. She is constantly challenged and has had nothing but incredible teachers. She stopped attending in 5th grade because my family had to move to be closer to work. However, when I placed her in another school, she just instantly became a straight A student. She has never gotten less than a 99% on any test/homework assignment. Even her friends are amazed at how much she knows. I definitely would recommend this school.

I put my child in this school and pulled out after a couple of months. The quality you receive really depends on who the teacher is. My child's pre-school teacher had no training and hence was totally overwhelmed and unable to control the kids in her class. The result of this was constant complaints about children to the parents and a show of negativity. The school was cited multiple times by the district for violations (on one occasion a child was left alone in the restroom - the teacher was not even aware that a student of her class was missing). The principal does not show the maturity demanded of a school principal. This school definitely can benefit from a new principal. My child is in the public school system and I am so relieved. The difference is huge. Please note that this comment is based on my experience and the experiences of three other parents and is strictly about the pre-school program. To be fair I am not aware of the quality of education in higher grades. However I would not recommend the
