Wilton has consistently outperformed its neighboring schools. The school puts a heavy focus on character building not just academics. Having come from a Wake county school and seen the differences, Wilton creates an environment that feels like a small neighborhood school. Activities like collecting food for the food bank, angel trees at Christmas, or sending Valentines to troops overseas; works to build the student's heart not just their mind.Administration knows every kid's name and you feel like part of a community. The biggest challenge is the school's sudden-rapid growth due to a another county school closing and they received a big influx of kids...as did all the neighboring schools. I think the Wilton staff has handled it extremely well and continues to put the kids first in all they do.

This school has gone to trash. The leadership is terrible, teachers don't know what they are doing and the communication is nonexistent. Wilton use to be good. Now it's just hot garbage. There is so much that goes on that they try to hide. Uncluding losing kids. And with how often they are asking for money, you'd think they were running a charity. I'm currently compiling a list of grievances that I will be taking to the school board.

This school is more concerned about raising money than the needs of the children. Bullying is a big issue at this school. There’s a lot going on at that school they are keep quiet. Some of the teachers degrade the students and make them feel as if they don’t belong. Shamming them if they do not understand. “ your mama hasn’t raised you etc.

It is a wonderful school. From the office staff to the teachers, they are all wonderful. There were a few hiccups with my son, but that was because of his medical issue. They finally understood why and the nurse for this school even stopped by the hospital when my son was in the ICU. I cannot thank them enough for all of their help and support. I will never forget it.- LG

I have had 3 kids go K-5 and another starting this year and we wouldn't go anywhere else. The principal and teachers are absolutely amazing. They truly care about the students. I have become friends with most of them. Love, Love this school and how it treats all it's students.

The 2011-2012 year was great. The principal maintained a high level of communication and made an effort to get to know everyone. There is a great atmosphere of everyone pitching in and doing our best. I was excited that the principal had a PhD- I thought maybe the school system was going to set higher standards. It is somewhat disappointing to find that for 2012-2013 this principal has been moved to another school and we have to get to know another. Wilton was a school of distinction last year- why stir things up again?

This is the best school around! The staff and principal are the best and do everything they can to help in any way possible! I love this place!

I have to say this is a phenomenal school! This community benefits from the leadership of a great principal. I'm not sure about some of the other posts that other parents have submitted. Clearly, they are not in tune with the daily activities at this school. The technology at this school is 21st century. The staff and all employees are there for the students. They are the #1 priority. This school rocks!

I've had 3 children in this school for the last two years. I can say that my children have learned and received a great education. I will admit that some teachers are better than others, but that will be anywhere you go. We moved into this school district/zone just for this school. Next year, my oldest will go to middle school and my two youngest will transfer to the new Tar River Elementary School. I just hope that we have the success at the two new locations that we have had with Wilton.

I wrote a glowing review for this school in 2009. We've just finished our last year at Wilton and can hardly wait to leave as we've been transferred to the new school, Tar River Elementary for the 2011-2012 school year. The administration at this school sorely lacks in effective discipline and communication. The principal is not an effective leader for this school.
