MCS is a wonderful school. It is very family oriented and exists to glorify God, teaching kids to be more Christlike in all they do and say. The teachers and coaches are well-vetted, and they bring a wealth of experience to the table. They have expanded their intervention capabilities over the years and work hard to accommodate children that may need extra academic help. There is also a good variety of sports and extracurricular activities for kids to consider.

Hello, I am a recent alumnus of MCS, and I attended the school for thirteen years. I have much to say. I care about this school very much. I left reviews on other sites as well. See MCS review page for links. First, a message for MCS: Please start caring less about making yourself look good, and start caring more about being a good school who recognizes real issues, owns up to them, and improves on them in evidence-based and reasonable ways. Curriculum: Average. Outdated at times. Lack of diverse range of classes. Teachers and Admin: High Turnover rate. Some great. Some not. Some issues with favoritism, inappropriate comments, and ineffective discipline (regardless of how harsh or light). Athletics: High coach turnover rate. I had 5 coaches in 7 years. Can feel like starting over every year because not every student participates every year either. My sport could be very toxic and drama-heavy. I spent so much energy trying to hold my team together. Somewhat limited options for sports. Not always enough players for teams. The only reason high schoolers talked to me in 8th grade was to pressure me to join the soccer team. Arts: Underappreciated by the school. Enjoyable opportunities. Two required concerts each year. Also an optional week-long college trip which was fun. I enjoyed the programs but they are of course small due to school size which makes it hard to do things like have full choirs or orchestras. A message for MCS, arts are not a sidekick to athletics. Facilities: Not old. Well kept. Cold 24/7.Biblical Teaching: Daily class. Frequent chapel. KJV Bible only. Strict Baptist traditions. Lack of ability to think for oneself. They would rather have a hypocritical person who acts like what they think a Christian is than someone who has real faith but is not as obvious about it. Mental Health: Laughable. I did not even feel comfortable bringing up mental health in this school. And it's more about performance than learning. Misc. Positives: Small school closeness, nice grounds and playground, accredited by ACSI and other bodies, college credit and career center partnerships, NHS chapter, eight grade and senior trips were great, Misc. Negatives: Fairly strict uniform policy, poorly functioning homeschool program, no school dances only dinners, uncomfortable events like love-a-grams, character awards that cannot actually judge character, culture where once one has a label it is difficult to shake. I love you MCS. Do better

I was appalled at the behavior of athletic director at this school. I had heard from several sources that bullying is a major problem on campus. After one visit, I understand why. What I witnessed was inexcusable.

I am so grateful for MCS. My son was going to a failing district before we started at MCS. He has grown so much and learned so quickly at Middletown Christian. The staff have been so sweet and helpful. I truly enjoy sending my son to this school.

We are grateful for the love of Christ evident in administration, faculty, and staff; for the constant updating of facilities and technology; for dedicated, communicative, and growing teachers; and for student friendships that encourage growth. We look forward to seeing how this ministry continues to grow in the future.

5 star rating from me! I graduated from MCS and now work at the MCS ELC. This school helped shape me into the person I am today and I can’t be more thankful for that. I’m so thankful for a school that not only does great things academically but that teaches and instills Biblical principles in their students as well. Thank you MCS!

Comparable offerings to any other private school in the area but distinctive in their Christ-centered approach and commitment to seeing young people equipped for life long Christian service.

Middletown Christian Schools is by far the best school in the area. As a graduate of MCS and a parent to students currently attending MCS, my experience over the past 25 years has been wonderful. The teachers show their devotion to Christ and love towards the students and parents daily. The administration team is made up of a group of individuals who truly care about the development of the whole child. I am so thankful for MCS. I highly recommend this school to any family that is looking for a Christ-centered education!

I am a 2001 graduate of this school and feel that it was an excellent experience. Now 12 years into my career, I can confidently say I was educationally prepared for my future. I would recommend to any parent looking for early education options for their children.

Can't say enough good things about this school. Every person working or involved with this school is so friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to make the students feel comfortable and secure. Love this school!

The teachers and faculty are top notch in this school. My son attends Kindergarten and the after school program. They work with your child to make sure they are staying ahead of the curve. My son was struggling with his phonics charts so they had a tutor help him during the school day. He is testing very high now, and has more self confidence and actually likes going to school.
