My children have attended K-6 so far and every year we are blown away by how wonderful the school is. The teachers truly care about having a positive environment and teaching the children through many different methods. Both of my children score very advanced in most subject areas. The only downside are the larger class sizes. There are plans to build another elementary school, so that should help with the class sizes, otherwise we are so happy to be at Monroe .

The school strongly encourages teaching to standardized testing, and constantly pressures students into fundraising, unfortunately leaving actual learning to fall behind. There is a lot of pressure on students to do well on state testing, and many of the elementary students feel overwhelmed and anxious. Before moving to this district, my student was advanced in reading and math. By 5th grade, she was struggling to the point of crying every night, doing homework until bedtime, and fell to below average levels. Once we left the district, she was able to catch up and return to advance levels, as well as manage her homework and reduce her anxiety.
