this school district messed up because they say that not being judgemental against employees. when thats is what they did to me and goes to show that they dont stand by what they believe which is very bad for outside people. this needs to change before lawsuits are filed from other people with same issues. such a shame that they dont seem to care about the students or employees what so ever.

Imagine your 1st grade child is having trouble opening their snack at snack time. They ask their teacher for help and her answer is "sorry I can't. I broke a nail". Your 1st grader is able to see another teacher they recongnize, their kindergarten teacher from last year.. they ask her for help opening their snack and she says "go ask your new teacher". This is the treatment my daughter received in her 3rd week at plavan elementary. Any educator who doesn't have a heart to open a snack for a 6 year old is not a good person in my book. This is the staff you can expect at Plavan Elementary.

Our children attend Plavan and both have had great teachers and experiences since Kindergarten. The principal, Dr. Ham, engages with students, faculty and family very well. The school also provides emotional support for students who feel indifferently and has a great approach to guiding them. We are lucky enough to have teachers that focus on children being children, at the same time holding them accountable for their academic work. On top of this, the Plavan/FV community is close and it's encouraging to see the kids excited for school days, it's events and next year!

This school is excellent!! Dr. Ham, the principal is very involved with the school, he knows my kid’s name by heart as well as the office staff and even her past teachers! The PTO is involved and everyone here is welcoming, very pleasant, with excellent curriculum. I feel like all the kids here are treated fairly and respectfully, which is what the kids all learn from. I’d highly recommend ! And I love that everyone scores well above state average, which is a great representation of the school, because we all want the best for our kids.

I think teachers don't seem to care if your child is underachieving. School is good because the children come from good family but teaching staff needs to be more proactive in helping slow kids

The school is good and can be improved but you have to review your staff each year carefully to improve the quality of teaching.

This school is sub par. Anyone considering this school should apply to transfer to Cox. Please take the time to ask how much the jog-a-thon raises at Plavan vs. Cox, and look at the technology when deciding. Plavan is poorly managed. The only bright side to this school are the lovely gals behind the front desk. Unfortunately they are not taking the state academic tests for these kids. We had to home school after our kids got home from Plavan, just to make sure they did not fall behind in 6th grade math.

Amazing 3 years with my son whois leaving to middle school and daughter is in 2 grade who loves school so much.Teacher are so close to the kids ,it feels like a big family,great community

Plavan is a small school in a great neighborhood. Principal and staff are very nice and caring. my daughter has Ms Andrews for kingdergarten and she loves her school.

I was a student there last year, I recommend registering your child there. The teachers are friendly and easy to communicate with. The education system also is very well planned and organized. Plavan is a perfect enviroment for your student to learn.

Plavan is a blue ribbon nominated school!! As a parent of three Plavan kids, I feel it is a great school with great leadership. There is a strong push toward fund raising because they are looking to expand their computer lab and update technology in the classrooms. I find caring leadership and volunteer parents really make a difference in this school.
