I have two children (3rd&5th graders) attending this school. The decision to come to this school was one of the best decisions we've made! After hearing about this new STEAM elementary school, we came on a tour and thought it would be perfect for my child. We've had great teachers who are understanding, knowledgable, organized, challenging, communicative, and work hands-on with the kids. My child has especially thrived in math & science, and using technology to finish homeworks and learn new skills. The teachers, principal, office staff and families here are welcoming and friendly, and it's always fun to volunteer and join the events & activities going on. The school also organizes STEAM night events throughout the year, where the kids can experience different STEAM activities with their friends or hear about different STEAM careers. It's so awesome to see my child come home and say they love their teacher because they always get to do cool experiments. The group and hands-on learning they do has really helped my child grow academically and socially.

My child is now in 4th grade and has been at Lake since he was in transitional kindergarten. His reading and math skills are fantastic, but it is his creativity and problem solving skills that are really impressive. He loves going to school and has had the most amazing teachers every year. As a teacher myself, I have been most impressed with how the school makes learning fun. They grow plants in their garden, design things to be 3D printed, learn using drones, and make Lego robots that the kids program themselves to do tasks. The school has lots of family events and their PTO works really hard to support great field trips and assemblies for the kids. I am so thankful that my son goes to this amazing little STEAM school and I couldn't recommend it more!

This school has been an amazing experience for our son. Our son, while bright, has ADHD, which had held him back from succeeding at other schools. The steam focus and top notch teachers at this school have transformed our child from being a kid who was not enthusiastic about school to one that jumps out of bed in the morning and does not want to miss a minute of his education. We can not say enough about this school. Whether you’re looking for a steam focused school or a school where the teachers really care about the students and their success, you can not go wrong with Lake view!

We LOVE Lakeview! My child attends Lakeview and is proud to be a Lion! For those who care about test scores, the children across the categories score higher than the state average. Their teaching methods keep children engaged and excited about learning. Their STEAM focused after school opportunities are amazing! We have attended Career Nights, where the children learn about different career paths out there. And, STEAM nights where kids bring their parents to do different activities in coding or science/math. If you are concerned with race representation, my child is biracial and has not felt out of place as there is a good mix of backgrounds. I know my child has a better understanding of math and science than my friend's children because of Lakeview. We love the whole team and I haven't met any staff member that I didn't love. From the principal to the teachers, maintenance staff, office and even the before and after school program the grownups all care about our kids and it shows. Moving to the area or just transferring your kid to Lakeview would be a great idea!

I have two kids who attended and currently attend Lake View Elementary school. Beyond words, I am grateful for this school and the support they have given my family. My kids have gone to this school since kindergarten until the present. My daughter attended this school and is now an incoming freshman in high school. What she learned at Lake View, she had taken that along with her until the present. My daughter is a straight-A student, as well as my son, who currently attends Lake View. What I love most about this school is that teachers here help encourage the kids and give them opportunities to learn from their mistakes or re-focus rather than discipline. For example, when my son does not finish his homework, rather than giving him recess, his teacher will allow him to stay in from recess to complete that assignment. The mentioned actions show students to prioritize their needs and wants, which they will need to learn and apply in their future in the real world.

Lake View is an amazing STEAM school that serves TK through 5th grade. Both of my children thrive here. They teach in a method called project based learning (PBL) - small and large groups with focused learning. Teachers here are specially STEAM trained to guide the students through the out of the box learning. They incorporate all the regular subjects like reading and writing and math into their Science, Technology, and Engineering lessons. All students have 1:1 technology. They have robotics, drones, 3D printing, gardening, and more. The PTO is very robust and the students have a lot of extra activities, field trips, assemblies and more. In grades 3-5 there are GATE cluster groups for the students that test into the Gifted program and there are also Special Education classes for every grade level. Lake View is a very welcoming community and we are so happy we chose to bring our children here.

Lake View is a STEAM school (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) and our kids are thriving there. They do a lot of project based learning, so the kids will work in small groups and problem solve together. Every teacher we have had so far has been amazing. They are caring, outgoing, and fun with the kids. The PTO is great, and the students are great too. We were skeptical of the school based on older ratings, so I'd strongly recommend checking out the school on your own.

Parents’ concerns are met with subtle retaliation against students. Teachers do not provide parents with any of the students’ graded work, so parents are not able to see where students need to improve or verify that grades are being awarded according to students’ performance. Grades are admittedly awarded based on teachers subjective considerations and personal values. Ethics and academic professionalism need improvement at this institution.

This is our home school. We were so excited when the district chose Lake View to be a STEAM school. With the success they are having, more schools will teach in a collaborative way to prepare students to work well with others in their future careers.

Excellent STEM School with dedicated staff, preparing students for the growing demands for science and technology from an early age! Mrs. Serven is the best kindergarten teacher :)

Great teachers that take the time for every student. In school robotics and hands on technology classes better prepare students for middle and high school than other elementary schools in the district.

This is an amazing school. The staff is the best- with it being such a small school the teachers are able to create a lasting relationship with the children. Lake View has a great robotics programs for the upper grades that teaches the kids how to build a robot and program it through a computer to do tasks. Lake View is also becoming a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) school. Last year the 4th grade class was ranked #1 in the district at 94% of the students receiving proficient or advanced on the state math test. We have loved it here and will miss the staff when our child graduates.

With budget cuts nation wide, no school is perfect. But, we have had 2 of our daughters at Lakeview since Kindergarten, moved mid year during the 2011-2012 school year to Los Angeles, after 5 months in the LAUSD we moved right back to Huntington Beach and to Lakeview Elementary. The difference was incredible, I appreciate how caring, supportive, and capable the teachers are at Lakeview. Both of my girls have had excellent teachers for the past 5 years, if we ever had to address an issue with the Principle it was handled professionally and quickly. Kids are treated as individuals, not a test score, parents are treated with respect. I would absolutely pick this school again, and again if we had to chose.

Enrolled my child here for the 2012-2013 school year and have never had any issues with any other school before this. The children are unruley, the principle is not doing her job well at all my child's teacher in particular feels it OK to gossip with children and call other children out in front of the class and ask them questions reserved for parents, total unprofessional behavior. I went to lake view during my entire elementary school years asDid my siblings it's really sad. I would not recommend this school for a dog, let alone a child! We're moving this summer to a much better school district that rates a 10 as my child deserves it, lake view staff should be ashamed of themselves for t treatment of parents that pay their salaries via tax payer money. I expect more for my child. I feel sorry for my nieces as they will be attending lake view, hopefully they will weed out the principal as well as the teacher's that don't belong there. I would think twice before sending any child there you get nothing but drama from a bored staff that should spend less time gossiping and more time educating!

Great teachers always willing to help out the students. All my kids have attended this school and haven't had one issue with the school.
