My son Dylan attended the middle school. He is disabled and the staff and teachers were wonderful with him. They were able to accommodate all of his needs. He thrived there unlike at most schools he had attended before this school. I can't say enough good things about this school.

Safety! Safety! Safety! I thought moving out here to elgin my child would be safer, then lawton, not! Called the school to see if my son had made it to school, since his regular bus was broken down, and when I called no one knew anything about no bus, so the lady ( secretary) gave me the number to the transportation office couldn't get ahold of anyone. So after calling multiple times, I finally had to stop in the school to check that my son had made to school safely, in which he did, but it's pretty sad when a school can't tell you if your child is there or not because attendance had not been turned in

The high ratings for this school are out of date. If your child is liked by teachers or related to anyone on the staff then you should have no problem. The principal is weak and is more concerned about being liked among her peers than for the welfare of This seems to be exclusive to the middle school. The high school is less abrasive towards students but the academics are still low. All locations highly discourage parental involvement. Field trips and school events are closed off to parents and this district does not have a PTA and is not welcoming to the idea of one.

The high ratings for this school are out of date. If your child is liked by teachers or related to anyone on the staff then you should have no problem. But if your child requires a little extra effort the your are out of luck. The principal is weak and is more concerned about being liked among her peers than for the welfare of children. Teachers mention that if there are any questions feel free to ask, but then when you do ask questions they get defensive & accuse you of being negative toward teachers. The teachers are very acceptive of mediocracy, in fact that is what is taught. Academics are not priority. Students are bullied by other students and teachers. the elementary school is excellent.

The positive reviews for this school are mostly out of date. Be aware, Elgin Middle School is okay as long as the teachers like your kid. If yours happens to be one of the unlucky ones (like mine) the teachers will pick on your kid relentlessly. I didn't believe it either until I saw it with my own eyes. Don't count on any help from the administration, they're not interested. The elementary is good, the middle school is not.

This school is a very hands on school! The incentives (field trips, special lunches, etc.)that they offer to the kids really shows them that their efforts and hard work pay off. The teachers/counselors/principle/staff take their jobs very personal - and it shows with their interaction and relationships with every student. Top Quality Education - Top Quality Staff - Top Quality School!

All of my children have gone to Elgin Middle School. I have only good things to say about. They care about each and everyone of their students. The education of the students is above all the most important.

Christian values and the Alumni that support as teachers and parents makes Elgin strong. We have a reputation to uphold! We are a very blessed school district that takes pride in our students and achievements. Elgin sets a high standard that encourages our staff, students, and parents to strive to do, and be their best.
