The school is too big. More emphasis on nice facilities than on the needs of kids.

My Children haven't been at this school very long,I still do need to give it time, but so far of what I have seen, I don't care for it, first they don't worry to much about the security of the school, they do lock the doors, but don't really care of comes in, they don't check ID's or hold Id cards until you get back, they dont enforce you to sign in, they will let anyone pick up your child does not even matter if they are on the list or not. I am pretty sure they dont know every person who comes in especially if there is 800 or more kids that go to this school. They focus alot on discipline than praising the kids, I watch them walk around the playground in single file, just because they didnt get there work done, not because they got in trouble. I agree there needs to be discipline but not because they are having trouble getting there work done, there are to many kids in each class, I feel teachers are not giving enough time for each child, there is about 25-26 kids per classroom way too many. They need to make some changes as for what I have seen.

I love this school. My kids have soared in this school. Much better than lawton public school. I would recommend it to everyone. The prinicpal is awesome and interacts with the kids as well as parents. My daughter grew and expanded her skills in reading which was awesome. My son was taken into Title I Math and received tutoring there. They help you reach your family and educational goals!!

I love the elementary school at Elgin. As a Military family, we move a lot. The teachers, staff, and community welcomed us. My son had ADD and the school staff immediately got him started in PT/OT/speech to help him catch up. We will miss this school!

I think Elgin is a very good school becasue it has so many things to offer each child. It not only has sports but extra activities the young men and women can choose to do along with a great acadimic program. The school as well as the city is a fast growing community.
