Our PTO organization is the best in the city. Teachers maintain open communication with parents. Students are encouraged to participate in after school clubs and sports. Leadership in this school is second to none; Mrs. Short has done amazing things at Pioneer Park. Overall, this is a good place to be.

Pioneer park is a great elementary school. They care about the safety and education of their students. Communication between staff and parents is great. I’ve always been able to discuss an issue or concern I had through the rooms app and would always receive a response in a timely manner.

This school is improving under the new principal but still has a ways to go. The school has a major bullying issue and the classrooms are riddled with behavior issues that aren’t addressed. The behavior issues severely impact the learning environment and teachers spend a majority of the day correcting kids instead of teaching. The parents are overall awful and have spawned children just as awful as them which makes wanting to participate difficult. Kids pick on and exclude children with differences of who don’t have “name brand” items. Kids are severely behind educationally, seriously 4th graders who can’t read or understand basic math. The teachers are trying and I feel they are doing a good job but with little support it makes it challenging. Their special ed department is amazing but I believe it’s being overrun with children who should/would be capable if their parents did their job at home! Overall, I highly recommend finding a different school. My children will not returning next year!

Teachers yell and scream at kids at this school. Kids are forced to sit and be quiet all day except a 20 min recess. They pulled their sped program. LPS in general doesn’t want or encourage parental involvement and prefers you pick your child up in pick up line so that you don’t go in the school. Learning is predominantly done on iPads and with YouTube. There’s major behavioral issues in the classroom that aren’t handled or handled well. Issues like desk being thrown by children and screaming at cussing.

The teachers at Pioneer Park really care about the children. They diligently work to ensure academic success while simultaneously looking after social and emotional health of their students. This year, 2020, has been challenging for everyone but this staff has handled the challenges with grace and common sense.

Pioneer Park Elementary is an excellent school! The teacher's are very caring and help the children however possible. The school has a great PTA and Booster club tha are very involved in the school. There are always volunteer opportunities to help out (but only if you want too). Great experience overall!

We had a very positive experience for 2015/2016 school year. Ms. Greenlee was a great principal with true leadership skills. She lead by example and is well liked by the teachers, staff, parents and students. The PTA is very involved in the school. They also have a supportive booster club offering most sports to the students. My son and niece both had Ms. Westbrook and she was an incredible teacher. You could tell she truly cared about the kids and worked with each to guide them through 1st grade. Personally she sparked an interest in reading that my son hadn't had yet making it fun for him and not a chore. He enjoyed his year with her and we are looking forward to the next school year there.

Pioneer Park is a wonderful school. My son completed K-5th grade there and my daughter is a 2nd grader this year. The teachers, Principal and staff are all dedicated to the success of the students and greatly encourage parent involvement. The students receive a great education at Pioneer Park as evidenced by more students from Pioneer Park that go on to Make the Principals honor roll at the middle school level than from any other east side school. The school also focuses on the 8 great expectations which teach/model appropriate behavior on a daily bases to the kids. I can't say enough positive things about Pioneer Park Elementary and it's staff!!!
