Neal middle school is a terrible school wild kids fighting and bullying other student no one should let there chidl go through that in middle school to make the student feel there at peace. the staff doesn't care the principal don't care at all to see people who giving u a bad rating it sucks to have 800 kids when it could be less going to a unhealthful school area .. they can do better but I would send my child to a school like that

My students have grown academically as well as athletically by my and my husband staying an active and staying in close communication with teachers and administrators. I believe that by showing we are a family that gives 3 cares about their children we have made strides in the way that the teachers interact and tend to our students. Most students aren't getting that attention to detail.

The school has a bad reputation but it’s not the case. The key is for the parent(s) to be involved in the child’s learning experience. I was very apprehensive on sending my child there but was reassured he would be cared for. The staff kept their word and my son enjoys it there despite being in the minority as far as classifications of who are the majority. We thought about moving but decided against it solely because our son asked us can he finish middle school there.

What a joke this school is! The students run it for sure. I feel so bad a made my son go here for a year. Biggest mistake I ever made. If your child has to go here, do WHATEVER you have to do to get him/her out! The parents of these children are just as bad. No wonder these kids act the way they do...they at following in their parents footsteps and repeating the perpetual "sorry to say it" cycle. If you don't want your child to be bullied beyond what normal bullying looks like during their middle school years...don't send them here!

I made a horrible mistake that I will forever regret by sending my child to that place. The teachers have NO control; the children do. They are being taught things that they should have learned in Elementary. The teachers AND students use foul inappropriate language. The school has so many sheriff's walking around; felt like a detention center and they even have a onsite sheriff department directly behind the school...which speaks for itself. There is awful bullying problem and NOTHING is done about it. Durham Public Schools should be ashamed...these kids are NOT getting an education...they are NOT going to be prepared for high school/college or LIFE. VERY SAD

As a student i think Neal is a great school unlike people that don't go to Neal and people that just read about Neal. The students at Neal make Neal seem ghetto but its not. My band teacher mr.maston always told us that we make our own choices and with the choices come consequences and I think that's every day life .
