Great parent support but horrible administration. They love their social media to make themselves look good but it’s all untrue. They don’t handle bullying well, don’t handle special ed well, don’t handle social emotional education well. The Ass. principal has been there forever and seems to run the place like her own playground. She favors the white kids and athletes. This is from a parent of white kids who are athletes. Not a good place to teach kids to be good humans. If you want high achieving, unkind robot kids you are in the right place.

I was a teacher and administrators myself in school and I have never experienced a more Poorly run school. They throw glitter around with social media presence but it’s a horrible school run by a bunch of “Karen’s!” Worst one being the vice principal who seems to have the principal wrapped around her finger. She discriminates against the non white non jock kids. Biggest bulky in the school and she loves the bullies. Turning to problem around and victim blaming. Don’t be fooled by the rating. Schools are about more than just test scores.

Requested an appointment with the Assistant Principal but never heard back. Every parents feedback is important to make this school a success and I just feel that the school lost one such opportunity. Secondly, the school is too much dependent on parents for a childs behavior when the child is spending most of the time in school. As a parent of a kinder gardener I have only received complaints from his teacher. Even if it was as simple as breaking a line during lunch. The teachers should work more closely on this with some support from parents. not other way round. I do not rate this school high because of this experience. Wanted to make sure my voice is heard and other parents get a chance to review this feedback.

Notice that prior to this review the most recent was from over 2 years prior. In those 2 years the school as dropped off significantly. The administration expressly focuses on the bottom end and ignores the accelerated and gifted kids. The teacher turn over at this school is also appalling, chased away by the administration. One administrator has been seen and heard scolding a teacher publicly. If your child has a learning disability eventually this will be the school for you. Especially since there are reports of teachers being forced to change grades so no kid fails. Even when they didn't turn in homework or clearly failed tests. If you want your child challenged and motivated find another school. This is not a shortcoming of the teachers but more so the administration which requires the teachers to basically ignore the middle to top end students. There is no Accelerated Reading program to motivate and challenge the kids. The STEM focus is almost non-existent. This is because the administration doesn't want the lowest performing kids to feel bad. But you should not really mind that your kid comes home and says they're bored at school. You should not be concerned that your child's love for reading has evaporated.Bottom line is the administration focuses on remediating the lowest kids because that is the experience they have. However in doing so they don't recognize or serve the higher level and abilities representative of the attendance area.

My children have been going to Wilson Creek for the last four years. I am pleased with the teachers and feel that my children are learning quite a bit. I love the exposure they are getting to all different cultures and heritages as the school really embraces everyone.

My child attends Wilson Creek (about to begin his 3rd year). Overall it's been a good experience. While I've experienced some challenges with having the right "fit" with one particular teacher. I was able to work through it with the support of the administration. I can't say I would not have had similar challenges elsewhere. There are many activities through the year for students, and a very active PTA.

My children love this school. The school has a very good balance of academics and other interests like music etc. The teachers keep the parents well informed of their child's performance. The new principal(who was the asst principal previously) is doing a fabulous job of keeping up the high quality. The PTA hosts various activities that all my children love to attend.

It is a great school and my child has made a great improvement in this school. I have read some of the comments other parents have made and those who have rated the school low either have too much or too little expectations, such parents need to opt for private schools or home schooling. I have never seen greater parental involvement in a school as Wilson Creek. Additionally, the teachers are good and make learning fun.

Even though this school ranks high on Georgia AYP, it is important to notice that in the pursuit of meeting these standards the school has focused its effort toward preparing children toward testing. Teachers spend great effort creating and inputting monitoring data grades. In this environment children become exposed too much stress at early age and loose the excitement of learning. Parent involvement is welcomed primarily for fund raising activities.
