This is my family's fifth year at Hallett, and we love it! Principal Jefferson leads with love, and it is echoed in every member of the faculty and staff. The children here know that they are valued and respected, and this foundation makes it possible for them to leap into their learning! As a low-income parent, I've never been made to feel like my children deserved any less than any other child. My children are Black, and were not being served well by other schools in the Denver community, and not only are they happier at Hallett, but that joy is reflected in every area of their learning and growth.

My daughter went to Kindergarten here last year. We wanted to give the school a chance. To our surprise and delight, we have had such a great experience at the school. And our daughter is so happy and learning so much, I can't imagine sending her somewhere else for First Grade. We got into the charter school in the neighborhood and have decided that we are keeping her at Hallett Academy. The administration and teachers have been nothing but professional, engaging, energetic and they're always so present for the students. I see this every day, because I walk my daughter into school every morning. The principal and the same for teachers are waiting outside to greet the students every single morning and it's been like that since last year as well as this year. When you send your kid to school, you want a great education, and you also want a school that feels like they care about each and every student's success. In my experience, they do at Hallett Academy.

I am a retired high school teacher and coach and as such have seen the good and bad of schools. Everyone I have interacted with at Hallett has been positive, caring, energetic and extremely professional. This is a wonderful place for kids.

It is time that people realize the transformation that Hallett Academy has made over the past several years. This is clearly a school that is filled with caring teachers, an inspiring leadership team, and not only joyous learning taking place within the walls, but also joyous events in an effort to bring the community together! The students are encouraged to dive deep into their learning from Hallett adults who genuinely want to connect with and support each individual student. If you were on the fence about Hallett or were looking for a supportive school environment, look no further.

We have had an amazing experience at Hallett. My son has been there 2 years so far. Both years we have adored his teachers. They have been very invested in their classrooms and the students. My son looks forward to going to school and learning. He comes home excited each day. When we practice letters and numbers it is evident he is making huge progress. We went to this school not knowing much about it except that is was 2 blocks from our house. We have been blown away.

When looking for a school for our children we looked for a school that our children would be seen, hear and loved. Hallett Academy is an incredible school and over the course of the past 4 years our family has been able to witness transformational leadership amongst administration and teachers. The teachers truly care about the children and work hard to ensure each child meets their educational goals this is fostered through accountability, character development and partnerships with families. While some base their decision solely on test scores, I strongly encourage families to consider more than that when selecting a school. We did with Hallett and our children are performing at grade level and thriving educationally and social emotionally.

Hallett Academy has surpassed all of my expectations. My child has attended Hallett starting in ECE through 5th grade. There is an indescribable sense of comfort, warmth, a positivity throughout the building. Teachers have been supportive and encouraging throughout my child's time at the school. My child is leaving Hallett above grade level and the social skills needed to succeed in life.

The learning environment created at Hallett Academy is unmatched. Teachers are supportive of my student in every way, and the growth I have seen is incredible. There is a culture of positivity, respect, and patience. What makes Hallett unique is the community circle every Friday. The whole school gets together for a celebration of learning and recognition. Principal Jefferson is arguably the best and most effective principal throughout the district. At the same time, the staff and teacher are experienced in what they do. This shows in the many ways my child and others have grown being at the school, notably social-emotionally and academically. Simply put, this school is amazing!

The new principal, Dominique Jefferson, is really fantastic. She is doing everything she can to give students the level of education they deserve. It's like a new school because of Ms. Jefferson and her injection of professionalism and caring. Great school on its way up!

Pro: Diversity along with friendly teachers and staff Con: Expectations for students are low. Very little teaching gets done in the classroom due to on-going disciplinary problems. When education finally takes place it is below grade level. Much time is spent disciplining the kids or watching music videos, some of which are inappropriate. There is little to no parent participation in the school and an absence of field trips or extracurricular activities to enrich or supplement learning in the classroom. The school seems to function as more of a daycare than learning facility.
