We couldn't be more thrilled with our choice to have our daughter attend BHES as opposed to our districted school. A night and day experience. The culture that the administrators have developed and instilled is a breath of fresh air. Caring, Kindness, Loving, Disciplined, Safety and most of all dedicated. Your children will be in good hands should you be scheduled to attend BHES. A big THANK YOU to the entire staff!

Wonderful teachers and principals!! This was my child's first year (as a kindergartener) and I must say that I have been overly impressed with how much the teachers, principals, and other employees work hard to be apart of each students educational growth and friendship. The quality of education is amazing and the attention that each child receives from the staff is something that I would only expect in a private school. The only thing I feel that could use some improving is the PTA. I feel that the PTA could be a bit more welcoming to parents and allow more parents to have a voice other than just those involved on the PTA board. They ask for money a lot and yet don't really give other parents the opportunities to get involved volunteering. I don't mind donating money or raising money for the PTA, but at least let me feel like I have a voice as well.

Wonderful school! Staff is very caring and they are very creative but effective with the curriculum. I feel that this school does value each student's growth and progress more than most schools. The mandated curriculum is, at times, a bit too structured and a can be overwhelming for some young learners. The only concern for many parents is not one with the staff or administration - but with the parental leaders involved with the PTA and other areas. Many of the parents involved often do not allow other parents a true voice in many of the important decisions or to even be a part of many volunteer activities. This may seem trivial, but it can be a detriment to the learning atmosphere at this school. As an educator and parent myself, I would definitely gives this school a good rating in all other areas!

We used school choice to get our daughter into this school. I am AMAZED at the quality of education she is receiving. I set up tours of this school and the one she was scheduled to attend. The difference was night and day. I am as amazed as I thought possible with the staff. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE B.H.E.S.! Although we drive 11 miles each way twice a day I could not be happier with our choice.

We are new residents this year to Paulding County. My son is a first time student at Burnt Hickory Elementary School. They made him feel as though he has been a part of the school for years which made my sons new experience a welcoming with open arms one! They have the most caring staff and teachers and we are so blessed and pleased to be. Part of such an awesome school.

We recently moved here from out of state and while my daughter has only attended Burnt Hickory for 3 months, I will say that I am very pleased with the school and teachers. They appear to be well organized and very efficient. My daughter is performing well and feels comfortable with the teachers and lessons being taught. She understands what is expected of her, so the teachers must be doing a good job of communicating with the students. I also love the communication between parent and teachers...email, text and phone calls if needed. So far I'm very pleased.

Burnt Hickory Elementary is an excellent school! The administrative leadership and teachers are all extraordinary. Parents are encouraged to be involved. The school has the top notch technology in each classroom. The art, music and PE programs are also wonderful. My child loves going to school each day, and we could not be more impressed as the parents.

I transferred my two sons to this school from another elementary school in the area and I have to say we have been pleased with their first year here. The front office staff and administration have been very friendly and helpful. The gifted and special education programs as well as teachers here have been extremely helpful, kind and caring. Parent involvement is high.

Burnt Hickory Elementary school is not all it cracks up to be. My sons first grade teacher was horrible. He would never open up to her because he was scared. He said she raised her voice and yelled at the students in the class so instead of opening up he refrained in fear that she would also yell at him. She never communicated with me and I eventually pulled him out of the school and sent him to another one. He is doing great and progressing at his new school!!!
