Horrible, best way to describe the leadership & the school. Save yourself the heartache.

Excel's academics are SEVERELY lacking. Many teachers lack experience or training in their fields. When I attended, attempts to enrich my curriculum with online courses or additional learning were not allowed. Students would cheat constantly without repercussions. I entered college deeply unprepared and struggled initially because my high school education was so lacking. Would not recommend for any child that cares about their academic future.

The school is run by people that speak of change and acceptance. However, these people seem to be the key problem in moving forward. Have a more welcoming attitude and you will make better impressions on potential students and families. Trust your gut feelings when making a decision to join this outfit.

Excel has been misery for our family. To think we paid for the experience is hard to fathom. Our child was made to think he was a bully when another classmate was the cause of the problems. Our child was punished for things other students did and for incidents that were an accident. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! The culture at excel is drowning in its inability to retain students (mass exodus) and its inconsistency with regard to staff...and the principal is in over her head. If you are led to put your children in a christian school...you will get what you pay for. Excel is the cheapest around.

I didn't get to learn anything all school year long the teachers would hardly teach and I'm done

Inconsistent, rude, self serving staff. Never had so many problems in one school year. It is without a doubt a punishment to send your child here. For you and your child. You won't last long before you get tired of all of it, just like the other half of the high school who left during the 2016-17 year.

The teachers care about each student. Every student is an individual and that student/individual is cared for in a way that can only improve them.

My family has loved there time at Excel Christian Academy. I have three children who started in kindergarten and graduated from this school. They are now all in college and doing great in the "real world". I look forward to our future involvement with the school and the changes taking place right now with the potential for growth. I know change is never easy but good things are still happening at Excel. The leadership of the administration and the teachers employed there have the best interest of their students. The staff are willing to receive less in salary to have the benefit of sharing the love of Christ with their students. The quality of teaching is still fantastic and high standards are expected from all students. My children are not perfect but I am thrilled with the people they have become. I attribute much of that to the values and integrity that has been instilled in them through the teaching at this fine institution.

As a student that has attended Excel Christian Academy from kindergarten to my senior year, I have countless positive things to say about the school. The teachers have done a phenomenal job at effectively teaching concepts, being patient and understanding, giving one-on-one time to students that need it, showing emotional support, and most importantly, showing the love of Christ in all that they do. The academics at Excel are extremely efficient in preparing students for college and the workforce, and the Christlike mindset and attitude that it instils in its students are incomparable. I believe this school has affected my life in such a positive way, and I am so thankful I have had the opportunity to attend this school. This school has faced difficulties, but the staff and administration have worked tirelessly to improve and to overcome the obstacles. In my opinion, this school is absolutely the best of the best, and the academic and moral benefits are absolutely priceless.

Excel has been a blessing to my student and our family. Small class size allows freedom to explore topics in classroom. Everyone has the opportunity to be heard. The financial assistance program makes it possible for those families who need help. It is there for those families who might struggle with the cost of private school. We have never had a concern that was not addressed immediately and in a Christian manner. The staff has a way of finding the student's gifts and allowing them to expand and grow.

They are trying to expand in academics, extracurricular activities and build a bigger campus so things are a little hectic but the teachers are very dedicated to giving the kids the best education.

Such a sad story this has turned into. What was a premier education institution has over the last few years been destroyed. Teacher turnover has exceeded 80% - with most long term teachers having chosen to leave. A new principal every year for the last 5, this year and last we went through 2 principals each year! The administration have no respect for the parents wants or desires in a school! It's all about the mighty dollar now that's it's privately owned by 5 local businessmen who run it secretly behind the scenes but will not admit they are the owners. Even the teachers don't know who they work for! Why the secrecy if their is nothing wrong going on??. No parent input boards are allowed regarding anything but fundraising --which is a monthly, if not weekly requirement. Tuition assistance has been cut by 30-50% to all families, who counted heavily on it year to year, which has resulted in even lower class sizes. Gym time has been cut to once a week for the young students. Much is being done for the upper sports levels to compete with much more expensive schools, yet they have virtually no technology in computers, science, etc. test scores for the elementary students have plumented! AR programs such as reading in elementary have been cancelled due to cost. Children take Spanish year after year, receive an A, but learn nothing! None can even count to 10 or know their colors after 6-7 years of Spanish! They charge premium tuition, for much less than the education at public schools and have lost the best teachers and administration as a result. What was an incredible loving Christ centered learning environment has turned into one of the lower level schools in Bartow County. Many other options available. So disappointing to see what has been done over the last 4-5 years. If you are looking here. Do your homework! Ask questions and get your answers before getting on board. If you don't you will be very disappointed.

Great private school with a focus on excellence through Christian education. Focused scholastics, winning athletics, and a passionate fine arts department positions Excel as the premiere private school in Cartersville GA!

Five stars for the school's financial assistance program! It really helps out.I have three children attending Excel; I am very pleased with the academic challenges, the athletic opportunities, and the advanced art and music classes. Even my elementary student can participate in dance, gymnastics, or piano after school. My children are happy and involved; they are learning a good work ethic and the importance of dedication to a personal endeavor, which is exactly happens when you become enrolled in a smaller school setting. Challenges do arise, but it is how you react to these challenges that really count.

We love Excel !!! This school is growing by leaps and bounds and what a great vibe I get from teachers and staff every time I drop my kids off !! This school is a blessing to this community for parents who do not want their children attending big government schools. Excel also offers a variety of after school programs and free after school care and tutoring. Excel also provides financial assistance for families that qualify....

Excel has been great for my kids. My oldest just graduated and because of his strong background and test scores in math he has exempted his math requirements in college. Not only has Excel provided my kids with a quality education, it has also been a place where they have been able to grow in their faith. We are very thankful for Excel!

Leadership is the problem here. I feel the principal has a very haughty spirit and treats people very condescendingly, parents included. I am leaving my child there for now, because academically its a superior school to anything else in Cartersville, and I am hoping for a change in leadership SOON. It costs a pretty penny to send your child here, and I despise the way parents and children are treated in return by the principal. Several of my childs' friends are transferring after this school year, for this very reason. The parents can't accept the principals' way of treating people. If your purely about academics, this is a great school. If you don't like being talked down to, then stay away. They should realize that we are not sup par achievers as parents, and most of us are in the top levels of our workplace, otherwise our children wouldn't be at this school. From a parent hoping Dr. Nelson and Mr. Deems make a leadership change sooner rather than later.

I'm an alumni of Excel. I loved my time there, however everything I hear now about the school is horrible. It is a fact that they can't seem to keep teachers and the turnover rate is atrocious. Grades have fallen because many of the teachers that they do have(particularly in math) are not quality. I knew that when I graduated, I was prepared for college in most areas(especially in history!), but now I hear students worrying they won't be competitive in college because they aren't receiving an adequate education. And they aren't students just wanting to gripe but students who have been there from a young age, have loved Excel and fully expected to graduate from there. Students can't seem to transfer out fast enough now! When a school has to hire a math tutor who is not a part of the school to come in and help the kids understand concepts that they aren't getting in class there is a problem. The majority of the issues seem to stem from the current leadership who is more concerned with acting big then being a true leader. I'm worried if the Board doesn't step in and correct the leadership problems, there won't be a school left.

We have two students at Excel and one who has already graduated Excel. We are thrilled with the results the school has given us. Our students are well educated and interested in culture, economy and business. We could not be more pleased with the quality of teachers and administration.
