Illinois Lutheran has helped my students grow tremendously. My children have started there in preschool and now attend the elementary school. They are well-adjusted and thriving. The classes are small and you can tell the teachers really care for the wellbeing of the students and want them to succeed. Christian values and teachings guide classroom instruction, and there are plenty of ways for parents to get involved between volunteering for being a room parent, helping out for classroom parties, Grandparent's day, and working with the Charger Booster Association. I love that the kids get 3 recesses a day, so plenty of chances to move their bodies and then settle in to learn. Great principal, and caring staff. Plenty of aids to help in the classroom and provide extra support where needed.

My daughter has attended this school since kindergarten and loves it. She has far surpassed my expectations academically, loves the THREE recesses she gets (unlike public school!), and enjoys caring, invested teachers. They have an active PTA, parties and field trips for the kids, and lots of support. They maintain high standards for dress and behavior, but I appreciate that. During a 2 hour Christmas concert, not one kid fidgets or talks unless it's their turn. Now that is respect! This year, my very active son started Kindergarten. He barely passed the entrance exam. Since then, he has learned so much, is more well-behaved, and is learning that the discipline and rules at home are applied elsewhere. I would highly recommend this school to anyone. I do not attend their church as we go to our own, but even as an "outsider", our family has been welcomed and our children embraced. If you want a highly academic environment, spiritually edifying, and well-rounded overall, send your children to Crete Lutheran!
