Most teachers are nice and flexible. One or two are not . The number of students per classroom is very high and that is a problem because students don't have enough time to do interventions in such a large class. School environment doesn't provide for a safe learning place. There's constant bullying during instruction and during recess and lunch. The measures to deal with bullying are not enough so students have lost fear and they bully. They want to treat bullying as if a student perpetrator has a clean record from the start of the year but it doesn't work that way for the bullied student. My child suffered year of accumulated bullying and that caused Relational Trauma (bullying trauma) and initiated the year with panic attacks, depression and anxiety. Now we have this child in cognitive therapy and was just referred to Loma Linda for more intensive treatment as the level of trauma doesn't let her learn and socialize. It is a tragedy that I gave a child to the school that was excited about learning and now I have one depressed, anxious and on fight or flight response due to the school environment.

I don't know if this school or my parents are to blame for the way I turned out. No emotional support for struggling children.

For being there for only one year, I’m glad we had moved. How often do you typically see a teacher had to grade on a curve because her students obviously didn’t comprehend her teaching styles? It seemed quite too many times.

The school for the most part is just OK but the leadership needs serious help. Principal and vice need some serious coaching on how to talk to kids. Ruling by fear is unacceptable. And forget it if you child is a high achiever. They do not have programs set in place to challenge them. We may live right by the school but we are looking to district transfer, that’s how horrible the school is in a whole.

Wonderful school with great teachers and staff. Nice neighborhood location as well. My boys are happy and that is what every parent wants for their children.

Most teachers are excellent. New "Principal" and VP are a total downgrade from past Principal. Bullying is an issue that is swept under the carpet and not dealt with. Classrooms overcrowded.

Absolutely love this school! I love teachers, staff, parents and both the principle and vice principle!

Just found out that the overall rating has dropped to 7. We moved into this area because of the school and haven't been disappointed so far. In my opinion parental involvement is as crucial as the role of the teacher. I hope something is being done about the rating drop.

Considering the large amount of students at this school I think they do a great job here. No school is perfect. Yes with so many students there are going to be so called problem students but I think the administration does a good job handling discipline issues here. My main problem has to do with so many students, typically 31-32 in each classroom which is too many esp for the lower grades, but that is not the school's fault. One of my children had a poor teacher last year who is apparently no longer at the school but overall the teachers are very caring and do a good job considering the large number of children in each classroom.

Some of the teachers are very nice and really care about the kids. for the most part its all about testing and administrators do not effectively deal with bullies and problem kids

WWE is a great school overall. My daughter attended there K-2 grade. She always complained about kids her age being mean to her. I felt like I was always in the office expressing concern. But felt nothing was done. I emailed her teacher and was always involved in her school, but like I said I just felt that they nothing to help out in this matter. I wasn't the only parent with this problem.

This is such a great school. The teachers are top-notch!! The teachers really care about their students. The parent-involvement is incredible. My son loves Wilson. Yet I wish the school wasn't so large. There are so many students. When it a party day or awards assembly the streets all around the school are lined with cars. Dismissal can be stressful. The school has too many buses. The other schools in our area do not have such a large population. The boundaries need some tweaking.

This school is being punished by the school district because OTHER school are failing API language score, Wilson is being forced to spend a mandatory 2 hour period in the morning doing low level language arts lessons which are far below grade level. The principal is LIMITING the AR program access to the students and not allowing the teachers to have parents volunteer in the classrooms. My upper-grader RARELY has time for science or social studies in class due to this district mandate (thanks Superintendent!) In contract, this past week, the principal announced they are in the process of becoming a CA Distinguished school, yet the children are STILL getting lessons below grade level. The poor performing schools should be given this mandate, NOT Wilson. I also feel there are SEVERAL mentally challenged children who are immersed in with the regular classrooms that cause great disruptions in the class, as I have witnessed in one of my children's classes there is a student who has not finished a single homework assignment this year, does not stay in their seat, talks and wants attention and disrupts the class, taking away valuable time fro the students. A change in admin is needed.

This school is all about looks.. It has a great looking package but when you open it up it's not at all what they make it out to be. The staff are concerned with their image not with the children. We moved from a district where the children always came first, your child's teacher called you at the first sight of any academic or social struggle wether it be big or small. My son has suffered since attending this school, he has been bullied by children 3 years older than him and was then punished for being bullied. My son used to have a wonderful excitement towards school, he was making great strides academically and socially now that has all disappeared. He walks into school with his head down and makes every excuse not to go to school. If I could do it all again I would have toured the school and spoken with other parents before moving to this area. If you're thinking of having your child attend here please take a tour and get other parents input before making a decision.

As a teacher in another district, I am so happy with my child being at Wilson. Her Kinder teacher was wonderful and I love her first grade teacher this year. So far the principal has been very understanding and supportive of me as a parent. Budget cuts have hit every school, but I think they are doing the best they can with the money they do have.

NOT happy with this school's 2010-11 YEAR! Traditional calender has really changed this school! I miss having TRACKS My child is in a class of 30+students=( The PTA President is a really sweet person/parent! But due to unfortunate budget cuts the school has terminated school events! Also the the new Asst.Principal seems very superficial (as well as some of the PTA staff!) I cant take her serious as a professional educator! This school is based on looks! I live walking distance of the school so it's a convenience for my kids and I ! Otherwise I would take my kids elsewhere!
