The teachers here do nothing to protect students, and some actively encourage bullying. As a former student and victim of bullying at Citrus Hills, I can distinctly recall my seventh grade language arts teacher encouraging girls to pick on me and actively starting “drama”. She would single me out for being “odd” and tell other students embarrassing things about myself. This was true for nearly every other teacher I had at this school through my two years here.I was physically assaulted on my way home from school directly in front of teachers and security, and I got no help. I was assaulted during lunch and had rocks thrown at me, and no one helped. Every member of staff either turned a blind eye or actively engaged. The teacher in the music department refused to let me take my final test because I would “not do well anyway, and it makes more sense to have you in last chair”. He actively suppressed my desire to play music and criticized me for being too poor to afford multiple band trips and new instruments. He had no faith in me and verbally expressed it multiple times.I never got any closure because the counseling department actively tried to suppress any stories of violence being inflicted on their students. They tried to sweep the multiple instances of blatant assault under the rug because it would damage the prestigious reputation the school had. In fact, my language arts teacher refused to let me follow up on a counseling appointment because she just “didn’t think it was that important”.I am now actively working to reverse the damage done to me by going to therapy. This school left me with trauma that is now only fixable by seeing a professional. I was depressed and considering doing drastic things to myself in an effort to end the pain these teachers and other staff inflicted. Please do not send your child here. It is dangerous for all kinds of kids, but especially the ones that do not fit the mold of “wealthy and popular”. Send them to el Cerrito or somewhere safer.

This school did great job preparing my two boys for their academic and musical challenges in high school and beyond. Both participated in the AMAZING music program at CHIS. I would recommend for ALL students to get involved with Band or Choir there!

My daughter goes to this school and loves it. She is a A student and says that the teachers are extreamly helpful. I have witnessed a school/teachers that truly cares about the students and do whatever is needed to help.

ahahaha, don't even consider citrus if you want your child to have a stable emotional condition & if you want them to not smoke hookah by the time they're in eighth grade. this school is the worst mistake i've made in my life. i no longer go here because of the things i've expirienced. drama here spreads like wildfire, everyone picks up the cussing by the time they've reached seventh period on the second day, & kids are getting pregnant/smoking & instagraming it daily. if you go on instagram & look up some of citrus's kids, i guarantee you'll find half of them to be smoking hookah. not a good idea. dont send them to this school, so much has happened to me here that. my emotional state is seriously shaky; so much that i had to be withdrawed from school. i was constantly having suicidal thoughts. protect your child & do NOT send them to this school.

I am so upset that there is no Bus transportation especially when it is 103 degrees outside and my nephew is expected to walk 2 1/2 miles home. What on earth is going on? So the answer to this problem seems to pull him out of school and home school him. I know I can't possibly be the only parent/guardian that is upset about this. Come parents - rebel! Let's get this changed!!!!

I am curently at citrus hills intermediante school. I am an 8th grader and i loved 7th grade. It was so simpal and easy. For all the incomming 7th graders i would recommend you go to citrus hills because you would learn alot of different things here and it would get you ready for high school. I love all the teachers here. They are very fun and cool and nice. Our principal is very nice and understanding. There are really no chalenging things at citrus hills. It is so much fun here. You get to cook, sew, make rockets, and a whole lot of other stuff. They have band and choir. I was in choir in 7th grade and it was so much funn. The band is really fun and cool. So yah if you want your child to succeed in life go to citrus hills. They push you to do your best. They wont let you fail. The more you succeed the more you have fun.
