Absolutely horrible school. They have no one communicating with each other. The counselors are MIA and never call amyone back. Same goes for the principals and the front desks. The only one that will ever call back is the attendance person (pfcourse because if the kids dont show up the school doesnt get funded) which is why im honeschooling now. Oroville High is much much better. They should be ashamed of themselves.

This school has counselors who have horrible communication (have none) and dont give 2 craps about whether your child is actually there or not.

After coming out of the local continuation school (Fairview), I found Chico high to be a breath of fresh air both socially and academically. The atmosphere is friendly, the teachers work well with their students, and the career pathways are various and well designed. The academic environment is what I would deem a perfect mix between structure and freedom. With teachers who care, and a curriculum that is engaging, motivated students are set up for success. At the same time, individual autonomy is encouraged and no specific career path is highlighted more than others, a perfect balance in an overall wonderful school.

I am a local business owner and have hired many students from Chico High over the summer. They have all been exemplary employees, polite, responsible, and trustworthy. Good job teachers, parents, and students.

I think this school is wonderful. It offers diversity as well as wonderful aesthetic and music programs. The two things I'm not too happy about our the art programs grading policiesand lack of a football field. Those are district issues though, I suppose. I have had my expectations exceeded as far as teachers, staff and athletic programs.specifically the football and wrestling program.

CHS is a Golden Bell Award winner this year for its outstanding CTE program in architect and construction design. They have a 3-d printer and can verify construction plans by actually building working models. The City of Chico expects applicants to RPF to submit it plans to the high class in order to verify that their plans will work in the real world!

As a former student of Chico High I can read the review left on 6/19/2003 and say it's absolute rubbish and written by someone with a very limited understanding of education and educators and who perhaps like to defer their responsibilities to others. Chico High is the superior high school in Chico with a long and distinguished history of academic and athletic excellence. To add to the diversity there are a number of smaller learning communities within Chico High such as WEST and ACT that have unique and focused curriculum. In my four years there, all of my instructors were attentive, diligent and enthusiastic to work with the students in their respective subjects. Students were all treated and helped equally as well as individually given every opportunity for success and excellence. From the first-rate academia, to the stellar athletic program to the aesthetically beautiful campus with an incredibly history, Chico High stands out as a school that offers more possibilities for success and enrichment than any other high school in Chico.
