This school was a life saver. We lost everything including my children's school in the Campfire in Paradise, CA. Everyone from the staff, to the PTO, to the children and their parents welcomed us with open arms. I cannot say enough good things about this school.

Our son is in the GATE program at Parkview School, Chico, currently in 6th grade. We have been thoroughly impressed by the teachers he has, and has had, at this school. They are well able to deal with the immense challenges presented by the different personalities and various talents within the class. They demonstrate an acute understanding of how to motivate and inspire the students, and with good humour. They have very high expectations for the students, both academically and socially. In return, the students demonstrate respect and affection for them. It takes talent and a good deal of energy to be an excellent teacher and these teachers possess these qualities and more. They are totally committed to the students and we are so grateful to them and the school.

This is an amazing small school. It has a wonderful community/family feel, and all the staff are fabulous. I have one child there currently and can't wait for the second one to reach to school-age and join.

My son is in the 6th grade GATE program and thoroughly enjoys his classes. He looks forward to school every day. The teacher has a great balance of discipline and connection with the students. She has challenged my son to pursue excellence to a degree that I only dreamed of. We feel blessed to have her. I only wish she could teach my son through middle school. Also, so many stimulating and challenging afterschool activity such as robotics, Math Olympiad, chess and band. My son certainly needs his rest over the weekend but he is eager as a beaver to get started the following Monday!

My child is in the fourth year of the G.A.T.E. program at Parkview Elementary. Now being a 6th grader, I am so proud of the intelligent, thoughtful person they have become. The S.T.E.M. component of Parkview is an important part of the educational program, challenging my child in critical thinking in science and engineering is blended into the curriculum as well. The teachers at Parkview have played a tremendous part of my child's progress, always caring, nurturing, teaching and most importantly challenging my child's endless appetite for knowledge. The decision to have my child move to Parkview I believe, will literally change the rest of her life in the best of ways.

This is both the district GATE school as well as a STEM school. The staff is energized and engaged. The after school programs include computer lab and Lego robotics.

My daughter is in sixth-grade GATE. She has responded very well to the increased workload and rigor and the higher expectations levied by the program.

I think the GATE program here is amazing. My daughter has been in the program for three years and her teachers have been very dedicated.

I have had three children in Parkview over the past 5 years. My older two are in the GATE program which really challenges the kids. My youngest one is not in GATE and has a terrific teacher. This school does have a very broad cross section of society. There are many hispanic, hmong and latino kids. I like that my children are exposed to that compared with a monochromatic experience. I look forward to the October Harvest Festival to meet and greet others. This school is building its reputation as a STEM Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics school. They have a dedicated science lab. All classes require some type of science fair experiment or demonstration. Many compete well at the 'all City' fair later in the year. One unique aspect of the school is all day kindergarten. They also have a before and afterschool program at no fee (limited enrollment). I also like that the Principal seems to know most of the kids when I see her around.

Love this school! Very happy with my decision to enroll my children at Parkview. I love how involved the Parkview parents are with the community events that are put on by the school and the Parkview PTO. Way to go Parkview!

Parkview Elementary is a STEM school with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics based curriculum. The teachers are amazing and inspire the students to challenge themselves academically. The office staff is friendly and helpful. Mrs. Bettencourt is an organized and fair principal with great leadership skills. She is very personable and easy to talk to. The GATE program is wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this little school by the park!

Parkview is a lovely small school with an amazing Principal. The STEM focus is awesome. All of the teachers really care for the kids, and the parental involvement is awesome. I love that my neighborhood school is right next to the park, full of diverse students, and committed to constant improvement.

Well I think this school is absolutely wonderful. The principle and teachers are so welcoming, and very helpful. They keep us parents informed of upcoming events and concerning issues. I really love picking up my daughter from school and seeing a huge smile on her face. She loves talking about what she did at school and how much she is learning. Good job parkview, keep us the good work!

Principal Bettencourt doesn't care about the community. How can someone like this be expected to lead children into people who care about others?

The principle of this school is quick to suspend students, the academic teaching level coming from the teachers is very low and there is a huge burden on the parents for their activities
