School has declined substantially over our many years here. We have had several outstanding teachers over the years but they all seem to be leaving. Never ending drama is the main thing now. Cannot seem to keep an “acceptable” principal, one group or another keeps running them off. No one is in charge anymore. My kids have been upset with the lack of continuity. We are looking into switching schools for our last few elementary years, what a shame!

My child has an IEP and is very well supported by all of the faculty. With the exception of one teacher, the staff goes out of their way to communicate, encourage and provide an inclusive environment for my child who is currently mainstreamed. I am truly thrilled with the special education staff and their determination to find equitable solutions to solve a variety of challenges.

My daughter attended this school for 3 years and I was absolutely furious at the experiences she has had. First of all the lunch food could possibly be a health concern towards the students, the lunches are sloppy, vegetables are slimy, and it's just absolutely gross. Teachers take bullying and racism very lightly and I've even heard stories where teachers have partaken in it. The principal doesn't do a good job at managing the school and mental health never concerns them, my daughter has been sent home crying numerous times. They don't set you up for highschool very well and maybe even made it harder for my daughter. Dress code is absolutely stupid, my daughter wore a tank top that covered her stomach all the way in 80 degree weather and got in trouble. They assign way too much homework where they barely have time to go home and relax, and wake up exhausted. They treat kids with health problems very poorly and a few office ladies are very snobby and hard to communicate with. Wouldn't recommend anyone for this school.

The worst teacher and principals. Don't even care about being nurturing or mindful in any way. Child had doctors orders that were ignored for months. Never again. Stay away from these crazy people. Child never felt safe and noticed favoritism. The homework provided was not even targeted toward his age properly, and was excessive during distance learning.

Our son just finished his last year at Camino (8th grade). The support and attention that the teachers have given him through the years has been great. They are committed to the children and have helped our son do his best. He was able to take an advanced math that he excelled in and that was because of the great programs that the teachers in the lower grades used to teach him.

You could pay a lot of money for a private school and NOT receive the quality of education that students receive here!Our experience with caring teachers, administration and staff, over a number of years, has been outstanding.The environment, socially, culturallyand physically, being located in a mountain setting, provides many advantages for ourchildren. We consider Camino Elementary as a real blessing and invaluable asset.Steve Monroe

I was so sad for our family to move away from Camino and now that my kids are in a school in Washington State I am realizing just how much I miss Camino School. For a small school the staff and administration really know how to teach to each child's level. There are reading and math groups based on what your child needs. The classrooms are dynamic and the student relationships outstanding. The sense of community is felt by parents when they enter the grounds. My daughter made some wonderful friends. I really felt like her academic needs were met. The school she is in now, by comparison, is really lacking in giving her challenging work. Matt Smith is a great principal and you felt like you were being heard if you came to him with questions and concerns. Also the staff in the main office are greatly missed. If you are thinking about Camino, don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed.

To set the record straight, the new principal, Mr Boyd is not bad and the school is not "going down hill". Also, the sky is not falling nor is there a high probability pigs will fly. It's easy to criticize especially if you're not really stating what your upset about. He's doing fine and the school is not falling apart. We're very happy at Camino and in comparison to the last school we were at, the principal is a 10 out of 10.

This has been a great school for years, but as of 2012 we got a new principal and the school has gone down hill, hopefully they will correct this error and get someone new in there next year
