I go to this school currently and it's one of the best in the county. The learning is a bit quick paced so if you need slower learning, it's not the school for you. But if you can handle the healthy challenge then it's amazing. The academy program is amazing and the teachers are very nice. The school is based around lots of acceptance of race, sexuality, gender identity, etc., and it's great. They have occasional events like wellness weekdays and a multitude of school clubs that are great. The campus is a bit smaller compared to other high schools but it's very beautiful and easy to navigate. There aren't any lockers or multiple large books either, this school is almost entirely dependent on laptops for school work which you can keep and customize. You never have to lug around a huge heavy back with the computers. All you really need besides the computer is maybe 1-2 notebooks and a binder, along with the basic supplies. There is even a decent-sized auditorium within the campus that's used for rallies and so much fun. It's also used for dance and theater performances made by the students at the school itself. As the school offers a dance class instead of PE classes that have a couple of mandatory performances, and one of the academies is Arts and Entertainment which the theater classes of that also host shows. There's the competitive dance team as well that uses the auditorium and the thespians club uses it for performance as well. All of which are amazing and very fun. I personally was a stage manager for a thespians club performance and it was absolutely breathing taking the performance of my fellow students. The school food is surprisingly good too. Of course, all schools have their ups and downs when it comes to food, but this school has, in my opinion, a mostly good food selection. There's even air conditioning in basically every room which I know a handful of schools don't have. And one of the best things of all is the den, which is a small classroom-sized room that is a place where students can take a mental break if needed. There are snacks, hot water to make hot chocolate, a microwave, comfortable seating, books, stuffed animals, and stimulation toys to keep calm and entertained. They have counselors in there as well if a student needed to speak with someone. All in all, it's an ideal school and I wouldn't want any other school as this school is very friendly and has classes I'm genuinely excited about. I'd definitely recommend it.

This school is amazing! The facilities are beautiful and state of the art, the teachers are supportive and communicate with families as well as students when there are late assignments or assignments that can be redone to bring up the student's grade. The 3 academies are run in a way that sets students up for college as well as employment in the future. The homework is minimal which is a huge plus for us! In middle school our daughter had so much homework there as no time for extra curricular activities and many nights were spent with her in tears so this is a big relief! Lastly, the school is VERY liberal which is awesome!! All teachers/students are open about their pronouns and the dress code is very lenient/non existent. We love this school and hope our current 4th grader will have the opportunity to go there as well.

Our daughter is a sophomore at Rancho, and we absolutely love the school. The facilities are beautiful! The performing arts center is especially wonderful. This is not a sports school! The only on-campus sport is dance and there is a basic PE option. Kids can participate in sports at either Camarillo High School or Rio Mesa High School and there is bus transportation provided for them to get to those schools for practice and games, but the kid really needs to take ownership of finding information about the sports at those schools and working out tryouts. The administration is caring and thoughtful, and they're good communicators to families. The teachers are also excellent. Although they do assign a lot of homework! Sometimes the homework load feels excessive, but the assignments and class offerings are interesting and teachers are willing to work with kids to help them get everything turned in. The RC Makes and Stagecraft programs are especially cool--offering kids real world theater and business experience. There are lots of clubs and activities, and the kids are really nice. There is an atmosphere of wellness and acceptance that students and teachers seem to cultivate. Overall, we've been very happy with the school and highly recommend it!

While some teachers and staff are wonderful, kind, caring people, it is unfortunate to note that there are many others who have given this school a bad name, and ultimately are continuing to ruin this school and run it to the ground. Your child's experience at this school will vary. This is not an environment for everyone.

Mother of Freshman and another that just graduated and went Straight to the university with 1470 SAT score. We can said that the only thing that makes me sad is that the principal and Assistant principal at the school had done such a good job that the district decided to take away all the marvelous actions to another high school in the district.

The instructors in the drama, music, and dance programs are especially strong. My child has improved as an actor and performer in general under their skillful and caring instruction.

With a Senior been admitted to all 6 universities that he applied for a double major Film and Production and History in Universities like University of Chicago, University California of Santa Cruz, California State University of Monterey Bay and California State University of Northridge (which is one of the first 10 in the country for film) and also a incoming Freshman I had love every single day of my 4 years as a parent looking how my kid is getting tools to be able to be a better man and a professional in what he wants to pursue in life.

Drama program is awful. The teacher is a bully to students she feels threatened by. Administration was notified by multiple parents and students, yet nothing has been done in over a year. To the point my student who is planning a career in the performing arts dropped drama class and isn’t auditioning in their senior year. Shame on the administration for not providing the program they promised with a qualified caring supportive teacher

Rancho was a perfect fit for my student - the small campus allows students/teachers/administrators/staff to form a tightknit community, which is wonderful We expected that there would be "growing pains" at a new school, but we certainly didn't expect empty/broken promises. As for the front desk/office staff - I would give them 10 stars if I could. So much better than at another local school. Kind, caring, supportive.

This school would serve it self better to replace the front office desk attendant. She is surprisingly rude and unfriendly. I have always walked into the office at my child's school to be greeted with smiles, friendliness and willingness to help. You will not get that when you walk into Rancho, front desk woman is terrible. I have been shocked by her unfriendly nature and lack of responses to inquires when first entering the school. Unfortunate because the other faculty is very upbeat, happy and attentive to parents. The office front desk attendant is none of those things, making for this much needed review of this much needed improvement at this school. The receptionist is lacking the appropriate responses to parents coming in, I was surprised last year at her behavior, this year I am shocked. Her rudeness and lack of personal skills needed for a person dealing with parents of the children attending her place of employment, is beyond ineptness, she is just plain rude.

My experience with Rancho Campana has been exceptional. For a school only into it's second year, it deserves to be congratulated on what it has accomplished and is accomplishing. Of course, like all schools it is not perfect, and what is viewed as disapproving will range from person to person. So, I will tell you why RCHS is an excellent school for you or your student. This school offers three academies of focus: arts & entertainment, engineering, and medical health sciences. Each academy requires certain classes as well as has specialized opportunities such as field trips, guest speakers, etc. It's OK if you don't know exactly what you want to do in the future, just select an academy with a subject you enjoy, but it is better if you choose an academy with a subject you plan on studying in college to better prepare you and confirm your interest. The staff at RCHS is wonderful. The current principal, Mr. Adams, is one of the nicest and most considerate member of faculty I have had the pleasure to meet. He truly cares for the lives of his students on and off campus and gives his most, always with a smile! Thanks to the decent classroom size and schedule, communicating with teachers one on one is easy and unavoidable. Your teacher will communicate with your student and help them if necessary. As for academics they offer a range of classes from CP to honors to AP. The AP will be rigorous but for a good cause. I truly believe the amount of work given is reasonable and effective. This school places a large emphasis on PBL (project based learning). Projects are a regular occurrence in class but I believe to be important and beneficial. It strengthens communication, application, and work ethic on a whole new level.This was only a summary of what RCHS has to offer, there is so much more to go over (the amount of clubs!!). There is something for everyone at Rancho Campana High School. A must go to school.Go Monarchs!
