The upkeep of the school is nice but the problems that continue to occur is not good.

The atmosphere, teachers, administration, and staff are amazing! We have been so happy since our 3 kids transferred to this school. RR uses great curriculum for language arts, math, and social emotional learning. ALL students are taught SEL lessons throughout the year so they're learning problem solving/conflict resolution and how to cope and manage their emotions, which decreases behavior problems, social drama, and increases confidence. Parents are encouraged to be involved throughout the year (not just during fundraisers) and there are dozens of opportunities to volunteer in the classrooms, schoolwide activities, and field trips. The PE program is also so fun for the kids, my kids and their friends LOVE it. The parent who spread misinformation saying that having the YMCA staff teach PE is violation ed code is completely wrong and should really check their facts before anonymously spreading false information. The 3rd graders get to go to the YMCA for swimming lessons, how awesome is that? The art and Makerspace programs are also so fun and engaging for the kids! They get hands on experience in the Makerspace lab learning all about STEM. Regarding homework - research is clear that homework at the elementary school level has NO visible effect on learning. So why would anyone want their kid to be sent home with worksheets to do after they've already been in school learning all day, when they could be spending time together bonding and enjoying each others company instead? I am so happy homework is not required by most teachers.

After reading other reviews, I am compelled to write my own. I rate Rancho Rosal five stars because this school uses the resources it has to their full potential and has offered my children a well rounded elementary school experience. It's not the school's fault they don't have budget money for art, music and technology classes. After having my children attend this school for almost 10 years, I can say they have had access to all these things and more through interactive lessons in each of their classrooms. Teachers and administrators have come and gone, but the fundamentals are the same. My kids have grown up to be confident public speakers, kind friends, strong leaders, and I know grades don't always matter, but smart kids too. What more can you ask for?

This school doesn't know how to deal with bullying, they believe there is no need to notify parent as telling the bad kids to stop will solve the problem. Teachers will give out the same practice package three times in a day to 'help' student preparing the test tomorrow. For those already understand the lesson, this is a punishment. For those doesn't understand the lesson, if they can 'remember' the answer in the practice package, they will get good grade as well.

My son's teacher was outstanding! She found a way to bond with him and make him want to do his best in her class. I wish I could be as enthusiastic about other factors at the school, but I cannot. : (

My 2kids recently transferred here from OC. We are very pleased with this school- lots of involved parents and caring teachers. Plenty of extracurricular activities/after school programs to expand my kids' learning. Great neigbhorhood schoo!!
