The school does not support the children when they are being bullied. My child has repeatedly been bullied throughout the year and the school and teacher have done nothing about it. My child leaves school crying because of it and wants to transfer schools. When we brought it to the attention of the school they met with us and told us that it was our child's fault and said our child needs counseling. After our meeting the bullying has continued and again nothing is done to the bullies. There are no repercussions or accountability and our child does not feel supported or safe.

My kids have attended this school since 1st grade. Cutely one is in 5th and the other in 3rd. All of their teachers have been amazing, and the GATE program is fantastic. What we love most is the community of family’s that support the school. We could not recommended this school more!

My experience at Stevenson has been nothing but positive. The staff are caring and competent. Everyone strives to provide an excellent education and a safe, nurturing environment for all students. The teachers are continually developing and employing new, researched-based strategies to bring the best for their students.

Excellent enrichment programs, the staff is incredibly invested. We left a high ranking elementary school to come to Stevenson for these reasons. Academically speaking and socially speaking, my kid is absolutely thriving here. School functions are very organized and the Monday Morning assemblies (open to parents as well) are genius! Music, recognition of staff and students is the perfect way to start the week as Mondays can be stressful after a fun weekend. Stevenson is a Burbank gem.

Stevenson is a fantastic school. The principal and teachers go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the students receive the best possible education. All of the staff are truly dedicated professionals.

We have had a wonderful experience with Steveson so far. My son loves his teachers, his principal, the office ladies... He has made some wonderful friends... we couldn't be happier. It is a very special place with equally special staff and principal. It will be a sad day when its time to leave and I know we will never find another school with as much heart as R.L. Stevenson.

My overall experience at Stevenson has been a very positive one. The staff from the principal to the teachers to the assistants to the office staff to the custodial staff treats everyone with kindness and professionalism. The priorities of the school include the academic development of all students as well as their safety and emotional well being. I could not ask for a better learning environment for all students and their families

RL Stevenson is a wonderful place to work. Collaboration and support among administration and staff is unrivaled. Mrs. Desiderio is a true visionary. She believes and supports her staff to no end. The environment at the school promotes creativity and risk-taking. We are lucky to have the support of a devoted, caring intervention specialist who exhibits exemplary character and reinforces those values in our students. In a nutshell, Stevenson creates an environment for all to flourish.

Stevenson is a top academic school, integrates the arts, and values each child's academic and social needs. I would rate them a 10 out of 10!

Stevenson is a fantastic elementary school. Mrs. Desiderio, our principal, is an asset and had brought on so many arts programs to each grade level. She is very knowledgeable and truly adores the students. The school had such a positive environment because of her and the staff. I’m happy to be part of this wonderful Burbank community.

I have worked at other schools in various districts and Stevenson is by far the best. Mrs. Desiderio is amazing. She is very supportive. Never have I had a principal so hands on with the students. She even lets the kiddos eat lunch in her office while she works. The staff really cares about the students and their success.

Our experience at this school has been a huge disappointment. We have been lucky enough to have some great teachers but a few bad apples in the intervention and administration departments have spoiled the whole basket. It's unfortunate to have to rebuild what this school has torn down in our child.

0, with 1 being the worst. I know I have slammed the Principal on this review, but it's only because they are completely ineffective at their job and are too busy being political. The district needed to do more too, after I got them involved, but this is all clearly over their head. They're too busy trying to get the kids ready to test well so that they get another Gold Star on their school. My advice, make sure you are in tune with your child and what happens during their school day and if you experience anything that doesn't seem right, trust your instincts and ask and get involved. You are the only advocate for your child - the school will not be that for you. They are doing massive damage to so many kids at this school . A change in leadership is long overdue.

I can honestly say that I am very happy with Stevenson. My son is in 1st grade and seeing the school's transition from his kinder year with the add-on of a new principal, has been a delight and honestly, night and day! =) The new principal is committed to the students and to making the campus feel as welcoming as possible for parents. I have come to learn that the parent community is very involved with two very strong and organized parent volunteer groups (PTA & FFS Booster).

My daughter struggled with anxiety and subsequently had a lot of issues in the mornings during her kindergarten year. Her teacher, Mrs. Kern, and the principal, Mrs. Desedrio, were extremely understanding and helpful and always kept open lines of communication with me. Her teacher went above and beyond to make my daughter feel at ease and I will always be grateful for that. Her first grade teacher, Mrs. Thomas, has so far been just as understanding, informative, and helpful and my daughter's anxiety issues are improving. Things could have easily gone the other way if handled differently by the school. The staff have been fantastic as well. My son has also had wonderful teachers every year and is thriving there, now in fourth grade. I only wish they'd add sixth grade so he could stay a bit longer ;):

there are kids from all sorts of backgrounds where they are not able to differentiate between being friendly and being a bully. I had an incident with my son and the principal thought there was not enough time in the day to discuss petty stuff like that. I was alarmed and had to go to the suprintendant at the school district to fight. she is not at the school anymore. I am afraid some of the teachers are and not sure what the future of the kids here is. good luck!

Stevenson is a warm and welcoming school that encourages parents to volunteer and be a part of their child's education. We are lucky enough to have a community that has taken the approach to fill in the gaps from underfunding with dance, music and art classes made possible by fundraising.

All three of my children went to Stevenson and for the most part it is a great school with very few exceptions. 1st and 2nd grade were rough for my youngest. His first grade teacher had just had a baby and upon coming back seemed over extended. She claimed, in a parent-teacher conference, that she was unable to reach my son after three months of instruction. My husband and I requested the coursework from her and got him caught up in under two weeks. Grades 3-5 have been stellar (Mrs. Flores is beyond excellent and even though pregnant with twins consistently went the extra mile for son). I personally liked Ms. Ginnetti although some of her remedies for issues were questionable. My son was verbally threatened by one of the parents that assists with gardening and I requested a meeting with said parent and staff, which she denied. She suggested I email the parent but, of course, I got no reply. I'm very happy with the new principle. My son raves about how interactive she is with students. I love that she is creating such a positive atmosphere where our children are happy to go to school every day.
