This has been a great school in the previous years, with some wonderful teachers, students and a friendly community. As for the 5th Grade, some instructors are not suited to the age of students they are teaching. Lessons are often too advanced for the students, who are asked to make insightful observations on political issues. These kids are 11 yrs old! Also the students are not given enough support or understanding and are often made to feel that they are not capable.

Started out good, but having been here for a few years and seeing how they structure the student/teacher ratio for the older kid’s classrooms, not to mention the inconsistent homework, schoolwork and overall teaching practices, are the two main reasons why my younger child will not be attending Roosevelt in the future. My current student has not had any life-changing experiences here or teachers that have made some extraordinary impact, and any extracurricular activities offered are minimal and/or not anything out of the ordinary from what other nearby public schools teach or implement.

Outstanding parent involvement, terrific teachers, and a solid arts and music program. This is the kind of neighborhood school I wish I could have attended growing up. Faculty and staff really care about the students. Reasonable class sizes for public schools, and almost every class has an aide or, for the younger grades, parent volunteers. Really fun events, too! My kids enjoy going to school here and I feel like they're getting a great education.

The Roosevelt Community is amazing! From the wonderful teachers who really care of about each and every child and work very hard to make sure each one gets the tools they need to succeed to the enthusiastic parental involvement that makes our Booster Club and PTA two of the best in the district! Our son is thriving and happy and we feel so lucky to be a part of such a gem of a school.

Roosevelt is a wonderful school, and teachers and principal have been great. My big worry is that there is pretty much no help with food allergies, and parents and kids regularly bring things into class that could potentially kill my kid. I've worked on it a lot, but I still have to remind people not to bring xyz into parties, etc., and the kids eat whatever they want at lunch time at any table they want despite whatever regulations they're supposed to have in place. It can be exhausting. However, a school of this quality is so hard to find in Los Angeles that we tough it out!

The last 2 years have been great for my daughter. The Transitional Kindergarten program is top notch and really prepares younger children to enter Kindergarten with confidence. The Principal, Dr. Meg, has done a terrific job running the school and along with a strong booster club gets funding for many terrific programs and activities for the children.

My child changed from LAUSD to the Burbank school district. I'm so happy about the change! Theodore is an amazing school! The teachers are hands on with the students/curriculum. They also make themselves available to the parents so we're able to work as team to get the best results for our children. They work hard to prepare the students for state tests, etc. The Burbank community & parents also work hard to continue to improve the school more each year. I love the activities & fund raisers they have for the school district, the make a wish foundation, & for anyone with a special need. It really teaches the kids great values, & that's really important. Theodore Roosevelt ELementary School is awesome!

Roosevelt is a wonderful school! My son has been here for 4 years and I have found the teachers and Principal to be very responsive and attentive. Parent involvement is encouraged and promoted and we have very active Booster and PTA organizations. As a result our children are able to enjoy a school music program and good afterschool enrichment classes that get better each year.

Not that this is the best school ever (I'm sure it's not), BUT, schools like this are rare in the LA area. These are mostly bright, well-mannered kids from loving families who are engaged and friendly. My child is in K and I get weekly emails from her teacher. The teacher is responsive, open, and totally accessible. It's a sweet, safe school, just what elementary school should be. The K is a mixture of fun (singing, art, experiments) and traditional learning (learning to read, computer class, building math concepts). Kindergarteners have a shortened day so things do get rushed but my child's teacher does an amazing job incorporating the lessons all the while making it fun and interesting. It's a popular neighborhood and the school is growing fast, so these are big classrooms. 30 kids per room, though that's probably typical in a lot of schools these days. The K classrooms have volunteers so there are usually other adults in the room.

We moved to Burbank for our daughter to attend this school as she entered Kindergarten. Now in 4th grade she is growing and thriving thanks to the parent and teacher involvement and the Principal's leadership. We couldn't have asked for better school. We are happy to be a part of the Roosevelt Community and our son will be starting Kindergarten there in the Fall 2014.

We joined Roosevelt this year with our kindergartener. We have had a great experience so far, and have been so thankful to be part of such a great community. The principal is very involved with the children and school, as well as the teachers we have met thus far. We love our kindergarten teacher, and we really feel lucky to be part of this school.

Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School is a wonderful school. It has a great staff and in my opinion the best PTA and Boosters group you could ever hope for. It really brings our neighborhood together. I have 2 boys that go there and am very grateful for the opportunity for my kids to go there.

Roosevelt is a great school. My son just graduated from 5th grade, and I have a third grader there. The teachers are all wonderful. They are so professional, caring, and go out of their way to help my son. They offer so many extra activities, have an amazing art program, and are always willing to listen to any parent concerns. I am so happy to have my son there!

This school is such a mess! The teachers, the leadership, and the staff we have encountered are all so unprofessional. It is quite disturbing that this continues to go on without any changes. The leaders of the school are so casual and uncaring. They don't act like they are running a school. I am thoroughly disgusted with this poor excuse for an educational facility.

Fresh from the Fall Festival where countless volunteers pulled off a huge fundraiser for the school...with hundreds in attendance...ready for more action! Many times one leader through PTA or Boosters will step up, but here they seem to invigorate, challenge and encourage other parents to use their talents to better the school. The student body wins!

Let me just say I have never seen such love and dedication for a school anywhere. We have been at several schools while moving around. I have never witnessed anything like this school. The parent volunteers go above and beyond. The principal, Dr. Meg must have a clone because she is everywhere. She is at every meeting. I think she lives at the school. She is amazing. She is so approachable and down to earth. We are so lucky to have her. All the kids love Dr. Meg, including my own. She is fair and just in her discipline technique. With her leadership this school just blossoms. I wish the school had more grades so we can be here longer! Some of the best teachers are also here! Mr. Pike and his mantises are famous. We never want to leave!
