I like how we have fun Friday and paws for fun, the lunch ladies are nice and the staff is too. But when there is drama, the staff feel as if they absolutely need to get involved, but we are 6-8th graders, we can solve our own problems and figure it out usually on our own. Some student call me rude things right in front of a teacher and the teacher didn’t do anything about it. Most of the teachers here are nice and I like all of my teachers. I would recommend this school if you plan on moving here, this is a good school, so just know that.

Been a very tricky 2 years for us in regard to bullying. I guess that is par for this age group, but its a bit excessive. Next year, there will be a new middle school and so many children will be going there instead, hopefully, lessening the congestion at the school. My son has witnessed several drug deals in the hallways at any given time of the day as well.

We moved to the community this year and my daughter is thriving at Barton Middle. We are so thankful for the wonderful 8th grade teachers and the awesome principal--Teri Eubank. Buda is a wonderful place and people are really nice.

Barton is an exceptional middle school with a very positive and engaged principal. The teachers my daughter has had were without exception enthusiastic about their subject and seemed to particularly enjoy and appreciate this age group (a MUST in a middle school teacher) There are a number of opportunities for involvement, including a robust band program, numerous sports, theater program that puts on musicals and competes in UIL, as well as fun clubs. Getting a middle schooler involved is the best way to keep them happy and busy. My daughter loves school, which I thought was impossible in middle school. Who knew!?

Barton is an academically wonderful school. The administrators and teachers truly care. They do their best to insure kids are learning what they need to know academically and learning what they need to know in order to make good decisions. Barton has a lot locals who talk down about the school but it truly is the hidden gem in Hays CISD. You can't ask for a better principal. The AP's are wonderful even if you don't agree with them :) and the teachers care - really care.

I'm highly impressed by the leadership at this campus, as well as the professionalism displayed by staff. Communication is timely and efficient. My kids have enjoyed their experiences personally and academically. I look forward to the next to years.

My daughter came to Barton from another school district with a lets just say less than enthusiastic attitude. The teachers at Barton have done a wonderful job and really allowed her to shine. One of her most challenging subject before was social studies. She comes home almost every day now excited about what she learned in Coach Russo's U.S. History class. It excites me as a parent to see her so enthusiastic about learning and to be able to carry on conversations with her about all the wonderful things she is learning in this teachers classroom. Great job Barton teachers and keep up the great work!

This is my son's 8th grade yr and my daughter's 6th grade yr. We love Barton. The band program is awesome. As for test scores, my son was chosen to take the SAT's in 7th grade and did amazingly well. We feel Barton is preparing these children for greatness. The teachers give up their own time to help students with tutoring. Everyone is very dedicated. Only complaint is PE has 6th-8th all together.
