Good overall. there is a strong sense of community. The PTA is growing and becoming more effective every year. The teachers we have had so far in Pre-K and K have been great.

We love PS 315. My son is happy in 1st grade at the school. His teachers strive to make the class engaging and interactive. I'm amazed by how much he is learning this year. He has music, art, dance, gym and even has a weekly class with the Dance Theatre of Harlem. The school community is very welcoming and warm. The PTA is growing and there are many ways to get involved. An amazing, large new playground will be finished in May - with new equipment, a track, basketball and outdoor classroom. The school Administration is really responsive to the parents.

I think there are some good teachers here. However, the office staffs are rude. The security guard lady at the school is so rude and mean. There is no need to have bad attitude to the school visitors when the security guards are the first impression of the school. That negative and toxic attitude from the school security guard can tell a lot about the school. While I enjoy coming here to volunteer my time, I do not enjoy the negative energy and attitude coming from the school staffs and the security guard lady. Other than that, students here are amazing. They are willing to learn and are all such bright sweet little kids.

They do have some great teachers. I think the school needs better leadership. The principal has no idea what she is doing. She allows the parent coordinator to run the show and the lady lacks class. The office staff is rude when you call. And they never have the right answer. The DOE needs to look into this school. And change the people in charge

I've read the comments. You should read them carefully. If the writing is any indication, I'd think twice about willingly sending any child to this school. The reviews are embarrassing to read and actually laughable. The real pity is that the writers don't know they are illiterate. Close this place down or fire the leadership and start over.

My school is an excellent environment for learning. We are moving forward with rigorous lessons in ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Music, Art, Physical Education, Library Media. We use ReadyGen for reading and Go Math implementing the Common Core. We have an active parent Association but more parent participation is desired. We are working toward meeting the needs of all of our students including the students deficient in reading and/or math, English language learners, and students with other special needs. We are well into the 21st century and have Smart Boards, document cameras, desktops, and laptops available in all classrooms. This is an excellent school!

I would like to know why an announcement was made by the principal of this school that the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag is being replaced by "The Learning Leader's Pledge"? We received this bit of information from one of our grandchildren who has been attending PS 315 since Pre-K.

My daughter attended the school for 2 years -kindergarten and 1st grade. SHe was in a CTT class and in K it was a great experience! Unfortunately her teaching team was less then stellar in 1st and resorted to yelling as their means of discipline. THe arts activities were great and they had many nice activities to involve parents such as Movie night.Overall it was a good school but my daughter now attends private school instead.

I used to go to PS315 when i was a young girl. I am now in 10th grade in Wagner highschool in SI, NY and i still remember all the great times i had back then. To singing in the chorus, the amazing staff and kids i met and all the activities, this school really is amazing. If you're indecided to where your child or someoen you know should send their kid, choose Ps 315.Your child will have a blast growing up and start maturing, getting to express themselves in the dance classes and chorus and other activites. I haven't been to the school in about a year so i'm not sure if much has changed sincei last visited. None the less, 315 is a great learning environment for your children.
