Everything about this school is below average by far. 95% of the teachers give either work thats too easy to the point we don't learn, or teach very poorly. The other 5% of teachers are decent but the work is still not up to par with other schools in course rigor. You may get good scores in class until you take an AP test where your grades don't matter. This school had potential but has completely ruined itself. Some of the teachers promote skipping classes (particularly gym teachers), which really isn't what you need. Some of the rooms have mold growing in the floors and (from my experience) has been there for at least 3 years. I thought this school would have been good but I was so wrong. The only part of the school that is decent is the vast number of clubs (which 80% of them fall on Thursday). If you live over 40 minutes away don't go to school as it starts at 7:15 once youre junior/senior.

Horrible in dealing with personal issues (sexual assault and stuff) and unsafe environment with minimal security that doesn’t stop intruders from entering. They don’t have security protocols like metal detectors nor ID scanning like other Brooklyn schools

Amazing school! The teachers are very good and they give lots of work, but not a lot to overwork yourself. You learn a lot from them and they are super nice. The students are also super nice.

This school is terrible. It is not college oriented. Administration, teachers, councilors don’t care about students, parents, grades. They kill the desire to learn, aspirations, hopes and dreams. Stay away for the sake of your child’s future

Midwood is a wonderful high school with different programs that not only teaches but aids in student development

I love this school. The students are friendly, hardworking, trustworthy, honest and respectful. Unlike Murrow, we have morals. It's students are headed in the right direction.

This school is very crowded; because of this, some of the teachers cannot even remember your name for the whole year. Some teachers cannot even teach so you would really need a buddy next to you.. But considering all that, this school is still pretty good. Most of the teachers are nice and there *are* teachers who can teach. You'd get them if your lucky..

Midwood high school fails to give its students guidance. I graduated in 1990 with a 97 average- pre-med with ap physicis, ap English, ap calculus. I should have been advised to enter into the seven year program Brooklyn college had with downstate medical school and also encouraged to apply to Harvard, Yale, and all Ivy League schools including Columbia university.Instead the advisors said apply to suny Binghamton and buffalo. Absolute bad suggestions. They pushed us to attend school in artic wooded areas . I was a star and should have been promoted to the sky not the middle of nowhere. They offered no financial or technical help in completing admission applications. Don't send your child to this school. If you have done so demand services or transfer out

The teachers are excellent and push you to strive. I was encouraged to take many Advance Placement courses which helped me received a full scholarship to college.

Excellent school that helped me get an NCAA scholarship. Many went to Harvard from Midwood too back in the 80s etc, but unsure how it is today?

If you're in the zoned program, you're looked down upon by teachers, staff, and students in the gifted programs. The school is sort of racially segregated. The blacks and hispanics are in the zoned program while the whites and asians are in the specialized programs. The hallways are very overcrowded and you'll arrive late to most of your classes. Teachers cant really help you because of the large amount of students they deal with,so if you're struggling in a class,it's up to you and your parents to fix that. Some of the teaches dont know how to control a class and the kids just go crazy. I've had a couple of good classes where the teacher is good and students are polite but the out of control classes I've had out number that ratio. This school has many sports and after school clubs. Overall this school is only great if you're in the specialized/gifted programs. When you're in the zoned program it's not very good. The school should look more into improving the zoned programs and not make us feel like we're inferior or lower class to the gifted kids. I would not send my kids to this school.

Loved my experience at midwood. Considering the limited funding and overcrowding I think the teachers really did their best. I felt very prepared for college and later grad school.

It's ok but I think it's soo crowded. I ask the teachers for help and they sometimes say no. Most of them don't notice their students.
