Wonderful school offering many learning opportunities for my children. Staff works hard to ensure that every child learns and develops their gifts and talents. The students have won many local, county, regional, and state awards. My children look forward to going to school every day!

The Faculty is very nice. The published tuition is not reflective of the true tuition it is much higher: You are mandated to sell raffle tickets or pay 500 dollars and mandated to volunteer and give additional donations. The school doesn't do the FSA or FCAT rather chooses Iowa testing standards. One has to question why and more importantly how the kids are really doing relative their national peers. Also as much as the school nickels and dimes the parents, they have no after school club activities like many other catholic schools provide.

My children have had a great year at St. Joseph Catholic School The new Principal has been a very welcome addition. She truly cares about the children and has experience in leading schools to excellence. As a family, we love the faith support, values, and strong academic standards.

We have had children at Saint Joseph Catholic School for more than 12 years. We are very satisfied with every aspect of the school, especially academic rigor, quality of the teachers, and extracurricular offerings. We know we have made the right choice in school as we watch our high school students who graduated from Saint Joseph excel in high school, along with their fellow Saint Joseph classmates. These students form the core of the highest achievers at their Catholic High School. I highly recommend the school. It has been a great experience for us.

I am proud to work at St. Joseph and I am neither overworked, nor underpaid. It's so sad that people will make comments about our school like this. Our tuition was lowered to under $7000 last year to help our families. Scholarships are readily available, because we believe that every child deserves a Catholic education. Enrollment is up, student achievement is up, and the school carnival was a huge success and lots of fun too. Some people just aren't joiners and that's Ok, but they shouldn't put us down because we like working with our families to make the school the best it can be for the children. Other schools are good, but SJCS is great. The difference between good and great is why we've been around since 1954. Our school is outstanding and so are the parents and students who work hard to keep it ahead of the rest. We are proud of our use of technology and our state of the art Apple TV and iPad instructional technology, and have just recently been awarded Governor Rick Scott's Shine Award for Excellence in parent partnerships.I am also a parent at the school as are many of my colleagues, but no one is making me write this review. Go Eagles!!!

I think a lot of these reviews are written by faculty who are worried about their jobs or forced to write them. We left last year, but know many families in the school and these reviews are not the sentiment among most parents. We switched to a public school last year and were actually behind on a lot of things. Thank goodness my child adapted so quickly. We picked SJS mainly because we wanted to be in a school where the parents and children wanted to be here and for the most part that worked out to plan. However, in Manatee County having school choice, we found that our public school has the same philosophy among families here. A lot of learning is online in later grades, so before you think about paying the $7,000+ tuition, think about what you're paying for. Also it's not just the 7k you pay per year. You are REQUIRED to work at the Carnival, attend a PTO meeting, & sell $500 worth of raffle tickets at $50 each True no FCAT, but for $7k, We will try the FCAT. It's been two months and I don't miss the school. Miss some families and teachers, but the direction is heading south & quickly I will say this, the teachers are good, but severely overworked & underpaid.

St. Joseph's is an amazing school. The curriculum is challenging and offers lots of advanced learning with multiple areas of interest for sixth through eight graders. The teachers are amazing and always accessible. The sports program is great. Mrs. Potter, the Principal, has done an amazing job with the school.

As a past student of SJCS, I want to thank the dedicated teachers, assistance, and other staff that helped to provide me a educational foundation that is far beyond that of the other students I have encountered from other local schools. The faculty and staff care about each of the students that walk the halls of the school. Their dedication and determination provide the students a strong foundation to build their academic success.

My children attended St. Joseph from Pre-K through graduation. I found the school to be a wonderful balance of wisdom for the heart and the mind.

As a specials teacher at this school, I have classes that are large, in part, due to the demand for the subject. The principal insisted on my receiving assistance which came in the form of a college-degree-holding professional who is team-teaching by my side. The students benefit from having two PROFESSIONALS (privately and in education) working with them to help them achieve their potential. The classes are challenging and enriching and meet the needs of all learners. I love being a part of St. Joseph School!

The caring teachers provide individualized instruction for every student. Students' academic, social, and emotional growth is seen from year to year. St. Joseph's is more than a school--it is a community of parents and staff who support one another in the excellent educational environment.

St. Joseph's School is a perfect combination of Christ, curriculum and character. My kids began at public school. Unfortunately, their school stopped teaching Spanish, computer, and even shortened recess to make room for testing. Kids who didn't test well on the FCAT received 45 minutes of uninterrupted remediation while my average child received little attention. In my opinion, this was not the teacher's fault, but the fault of the lawmakers who make testing the primary focus of the classroom. After enrolling in St. Joseph's, yy kids are happy. They are engaged and love to go to school. They come home with smiles and are anxious to tell us about their day. What a difference!

St Joseph is not worth the private school tuition. We have been here for a number of years and have watched it slowly decline. While the full time teachers are very competent and caring, the overall curriculum has declined. Our child is considered advanced at St Joe but we have subsequently learned that means average in a public school. The student/teacher ratio is misleading because it contemplates the specials teachers. Many of the classes are very large; nearing 30 kids. Unfortunately, the teachers are given unqualified assistants so any child that is advanced is left unchallenged in these large classes. This has become a place that can teach to the average child well but if your child is an advanced learner then this is not the school to send them to any longer. The principal's vision has made this school ahead of others with regards to technology but behind in education. Due to recent firings, the teachers seem to be pulled in so many different directions and it appears the vision for the school is more about getting money from parents than providing a quality education for the children. This will be our last year here.

St. Joseph's Catholic School in Bradenton, Florida has a high reputation to uphold and they are definitely holding up to those standards! Many leaders in our community are alumnis of the great school. These alumnis now send their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to their alma mater for the same strong educational and spiritual experience. Even though our student enrollment is smaller than years past, the environment continues to be one that students from all backgrounds find nurturing, comfortable and accepting of their individuality. As we finalize plans for a school carnival, we look forward to "showing off" our small treasure to members of the community that may not have heard of St. Joseph's Catholic School.

St joseph catholic school is an excellent environment for my children. They excel in academics and also guide them through prayers and masses. This teaches them to keep God as the center and gives them values to guide them throughout their life. They learn many life lessons along with building their character through the different sports programs available. The teachers are very warm and caring. The family involvement in every activity is wonderful. I would recommend St Joseph school for everyone!
