My child went here, they honestly didn’t like it. There was a few good teachers. 7th grade was a bit of a struggle academically and it was hard to get in contact with the teachers or counselors, emails would go unanswered more often than not. They definitely favor students whose parents donate a lot of money or volunteer at school often(so if you’re able to do that, your student will probably do fine) And be prepared to always be asked to donate money, and stock the teachers lounge. Which I didn’t mind at all, but when the teachers and staff are rude it doesn’t make you want to donate or stock their lounge. I won’t be sending my other kids here when they start middle school. I picked this middle school because I always heard how amazing it was, but we weren’t impressed with it at all. Plus there isn’t a gymnasium, so if your kid picks p.e there isn’t a gym for them to play in. They raise over $100,000 every year, so it’s surprising they wouldn’t build a gym at the middle school.

Kids there smoke and have all kind of mental and social problems and school and staff hush on it . Subzero communication from teachers or staff . Terrible school . The principal is a joke

Rowlett Middle Academy is a fantastic school! Our son is a graduating 8th grader and has ONLY excelled and grown exponentially here. Keep in mind, this was even during his 6th grade year (the year of COVID and part & full-time virtual schooling). He has truly enjoyed his time here, his classes, the teachers/principal/staff, "Read Around Rowlett", iLead, and the various other activities the school has to offer. As a parent, I found the platforms the school uses (Focus, Bloomz, and Google Classroom) have allowed me to be very involved in his education and to stay updated on his grades as often as I wish. I found the teachers/staff very easy to communicate with. Additionally, I found the class content to truly exceed my expectations.

I didn't like this school at all the band director has given my mum lip several times and perpetually misgenders and deadnames me whenever she's upset my English teacher was very rude to me last year my mom had to threaten my science teachers job and curse out my science teacher last yr in order to get her to abide by 504 and this year my science teacher doesn't let me out on time at all and is very difficult to work with. I can not speak on the experience of 6th-grade students as I was not a student at that time but god am I excited to leave this school it has been horrible to me

As a student here, I think that we are a great school with its problems but we work together to solve them.

We moved from NY to Manatee county and were told that Rowlett was the best school around. We bid our oldest son into the school and he was accepted into 7th grade. Since we moved here from out of state and this was his 2 middle school he was having some issues fitting in and making friends. He also has ADHD. he had a few hiccups where he got referrals for talking in class, and other minor things. The week before Christmas break we were informed that his school choice was being revoked and he would need to go to his ZONE school. They offered no help for the situation, no compassion, really no care in the world for him. He did not fit the mold so he had to go. Worst school experience ever. We will be contacting the district and making a complaint
