This school will violate your parental rights and disregard any concerns you may have. They don't take ownership for their actions, and will gaslight you to the point of insanity. If you want peace, while your child receives a good education, stay faaaaar away from here

What a great school! I cannot say enough about the Principal Jim Pauley and his outstanding administration. Most of their teachers hold advanced degrees to teach in the IB Program. We had teachers in both traditional and IB schools. They all did an excellent job. We are sadly leaving after 4 great years. I can highly recommend this school to all parents. A big thank you to all faculty and administration at Southeast High School and, as always, GO NOLES!

I am a sophomore at Southeast High School and I am enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. I truly think that this program is an amazing choice after nearly attending Lakewood Ranch High School. This program has taught me, and will continue to teach me, just how to be successful in the world by acquiring people-pleasing skills while developing intellectual inquiry. Most of the teachers are well adapted to their job and take pride in caring for their students. From what I have heard about non-IB classes, they're not nearly as notable. I would definetly consider trying out the IB program as it is a great way to prepare for college.

This school has a bad reputation. I will admit that when I was first zoned for here, I believed the hype and hoped to transfer as quickly as possible. However, a year into it I came to love the school. The teachers greatly care about the individual students success, and the environment is very conducive to learning. I am in the IB programme as well, which is a very thriving AP/Honors system that many of the student body is involved in. Don't fall for the bad reputation of this school, or the greatschools rating! It is the best high school in the county receiving the most money by more than 3x the next highest school in scholarship money last year!

A horrible school in my opinion. The classes aren't that hard and I'm not in IB although I am eligble for it. The guidance are horrible seriously I don't know why they get paid they don't seem to care for the students. I am currently trying to get out of a honors class but they have no power to get me out and I have to arrange a meeting with the Principal just for that? forget it it's not worth the time. The teachers however, some of them are good and some of them are horrible. I would advise you to go to Bayshore or Braden River.

The IB program is a very good program. The newly formed IB Parents Association has been doing a lot to to enhance student academic excellence and teacher proficiency and performance. The revised mission and vision statements have reset the expectation for achieving the school's highest potential. The new principal has demonstrated openess to new ideas and willingness to explore new avenues for academic excellence.

I am an IB Sophomore, and I KNOW going to SEHS was the best educational idea for me. If I had gone to a school without IB, I would have been so bored with school. But now, I have enaging and interesting teachers and a, for the most part, highly active class of 2013. None of these negative comments make any sense. Those that claim that IB is a waste of time or is too easy did not saty long enough to be in the actual IB program. Choose Southeast High School, and as always, GO NOLES!!!

This school is absolutely amazing! My youngest daughter just started going here, and she loves it. Her older brother is a senior, and has been at Southeast throughout highschool. I would never put my children in any other high school. The IB program is excellent, and is a very good challenge for students. Especially the acedemically gifted ones. The teachers are fantastic, and very helpful and organized. Parents, make the right choice and put your children in Southeast! You won't regret it.
