Great teachers and staff. The teachers will do anything for the kids. As with all schools, watch out for some crazy parents though. There needs to be more counselors.

This school is fairly average as far as education. The music and arts program is lacking as it it is most of the district. They need regular arts and music science. The school is older and run down. They just got window a/c units. My child's teacher last year was short on patience, but very creative. This year it is all worksheets. Worksheets, worksheets, worksheets. If your child has any challenges with learning with needing assistance or being advanced, I would go elsewhere. I can't comment on the new principal. She is fairly green and seems to want to have little contact. I don't find her to be warm or inviting and any issues I felt shut down. There are issues with aggressive kids and I am not sure this has been handled well. There was even a child so disruptive the police were called. I can't say that is a teacher issue, but it shows that there is an issue with personal lives that spill over to school and might not be investigated properly. The school counselor really doesn't care about his job. He seems extremely unmotivated. Most other staff are very sweet and caring and know your child by their first name. I can't tell how much the staff cares, but their resources are next to zero. That is ridiculous seeing how expensive it is to live in the county. I don't feel the schools are funded equally. So much could be done. So much is put on the parent club and parents. It is a good enough school, but don't expect amazing.

Boulder Creek Elementary School takes great pride in the academic progress of all the students. Excellent support for parents and children who need extra help. This is a small school in a rural community and we have a diverse community. The education program reaches all levels of educational needs for the community. During the pandemic the school integrated the zoom classes immediately so the children did not miss much school. The teachers here truly appreciate our community and are dedicated to higher education.

This school has gone down hill since Lynn Chappel left. The new principal is horrible! She could care less about the students education or safety on campus. This is obviously just a job to her! My son went to BCE for 5 yrs and it was a horrible experience! He has ADHD and was supposed to have a 504 plan to help. They never ever offered any of the accommodations they promised. He failed their state math test because they didn't care enough to help him succeed! Horrible school! He started a new school this year and has excelled in every subject because they actually care and they actually listen and accommodate his needs to learn.

The teachers are wonderful but unfortunately they are being led by an unskilled Principal and a cold hearted witch of a Superintendent. This school does not care about the safety students. They only care about keeping complaints silenced and keeping parents in the dark about the pervasive bullying sending children to the ER and damaging their psychies forever. Denise Fosberg you are useless.

Boulder Creek elementary is considered to be a "distinguished" California school. My son went there for two years and we as a family, loved it!!! its a small and charming school in a small mountain town surrounded by redwoods. The school almost has a private school feel, with out the cost! The teachers that I encountered while my son was attending were exceptional. By this I mean all of the redeeming traits that a parent/student would want the staff to have. Overly qualified, nurturing, caring, attentive, engaged, challenging, well rounded and clearly love their job. for anyone who is considering sending their child to this school, I highly recommend it. You will most definitely be glad you that you did!

This school is a really nice place to be with some exception. Traffic is horrible and unsafe. The 4th and 5th grade classroom is overcrowded. The 4th grade year is very challenging if you end up in Mrs Miller's classroom. This lady does not like her job. She yells at kids and she is not a motivated teacher at all. I just don't understand why she is still there. I feel really sorry for the kids that end up at her classroom. I wish the school would be a bit more academic with more challenging for the smarter kids. We have a new principal which I was much happier with Mrs. Chappel.
