  My son had an wonderful and supportive experience at Pacific Sands. At Pacific Sands he had the opportunity to dive deep into his interests and learn through his passions. He begin working full time immediately after graduation in a field of his choice. I recommend Pacific Sands highly!

  This Academy has been a wonderful experience for my son who struggled with traditional school. They take the time to listen and to make it passion driven. I have never seen my son love a school more then Pacific Sands Academy, We all highly recommend this school.

  I’m so happy we found Pacific Sands. Shauna in particular has encouraged my sons to pursue their interests and become the person they want to be. There aren’t enough stars in the Social-emotional support catergory, or some of the other categories. It was a good fit for our family.

  Pacific Sands is a wonderful opportunity for my son to get his diploma while learning in his own way. When in a brick and mortar school he really felt like he was in a prison. Now he understands the true meaning of learning. He is developing as a full, well-rounded person and is so passionate about learning. While in a traditional school he just spent the day dozing off or doing the minimum to get by. Now he even studies on the weekends because he is passionate about what he is learning about. Shauna is very patient and a great guide. She provides resources and ideas and support but listens to what he really wants to do and they develop a plan together. I highly recommend Pacific Sands!

  Shauna and PSA were a great solution for my son who struggled in his middle school and high school with some specific classes (actually it was the teachers there). He was able to get full credit for classes by taking them with Shauna and work in a way that worked for him and made sense. His ADHD makes it quite difficult to do this in the on-line only options the public school offered as an alternative. We'd have been lost without PSA!

  Shauna Reisewitz is an amazing teacher and supporter for children who are still trying to find their way. My son was having difficulties in standard high school and found a path and a solid work plan here at Pacific Sands Academy. I highly recommend this school as a viable alternative for students who need a different approach to learning. Kelly Favero

  Pacific Sands was a huge blessing in our lives. My son was in 9th grade and had totally lost interest in learning and eventually pursuing a career so we decided to give this program a try and he did 10th grade with Shawna. The way she personalized and facilitated the learning experience for him was amazing! He started realizing he was now in charge of his education. He could make decisions and design his path, felt respected, understood, reassured in his individuality, assisted in finding his way and empowered to the point he felt he wanted to try going back to public school to have more of the social experience. He did that for 11th grade and when the pandemic came and all learning was online he went back to Pacific Sands and graduated at a super fast pace. He’s now in college pursuing Automotive Technology and most importantly he is excited about it. I can’t thank Shawna and her program enough for offering this wonderful alternative to traditional education. Not every child fits that mold but they all have a huge potential and this program gives them the opportunity to discover it.

  We loved our time at Pacific Sands Academy. Not only does Shauna care deeply for each of her students, but she also has a wonderful way of pulling out what lights them up and turns them on to learning...such a huge WIN for all of our family! Thank you for your dedication to learning & making education a fun & wonderful experience. Having come from a traditional high school, our son was able to not only direct his learning but also dive into what he loves, which enabled us all to enjoy his Senior year! Such a fantastic experience!

  Pacific Sands is an affordable and excellent option for every child that you would want a change for. If they are struggling with the school setting either academically or socially this is a great choice. Early pandemic we discovered the local school system very much struggling with online academics. So was my daughter. We tried another program specific to WA state but it was a boring flop for us too. Shauna created a program designed to interest my teen daughter and keep her learning. The program is a breath of fresh air and works very well with our busy equine sports activities and schedule. We have not missed out on the nasty social aspects of teen education using 4h and High School Equestrian team for a controlled social environment.

  Pacific Sands Academy is a lighthouse of hope and inspiration in a sea of educational factories. Our brilliant son endured a year and a half of public high school being bored out of his mind with all of the conformity and ever increasing standardized testing. This killed his passion for learning and he began believing the lies that he was not smart since he didn’t fit into this conventional model of education. His self-esteem and grades took a nose dive.Thank God we found Ms. Shauna who puts the passion back into learning. Not only a teacher, I like to think of her as a mentor/coach assisting students on their self-directed educational pathway. She really has a gift to encourage and nurture student’s gifts and passions giving them a sense of validation and boosting their self-esteem. Ms. Shauna has many unconventional tools in her teaching tool box that use creative ways to get those hated subjects completed as well as very inventive ways to get credits including (for our son):Economics and Investment Strategies (investing in crypto and stocks)Practical Math:Construction Trades (doing home remodeling)STEM:Mechanical Engineering (training/working at a motorcycle repair shop)After graduating from Pacific Sands Academy, our brilliant son loves to learn again. Most importantly, he believes in himself and has hope for his future.

  Love Pacific Sands! We are under the homeschool umbrella. I love being able to have opportunities for my first grader to go on field trips to the beach etc. The director is great at communication, always sends out emails, invites, to include everyone. She's also just a super awesome lady. I fully recommend!

  Pacific Sands Academy is the only school I have ever attended where education, not blind obedience, was the focus of your time. This program allowed me to study things I found interesting without the stress and anxiety that comes from the modern school system, at my own pace. Due to the nature of the school, I was able to graduate far earlier than predicted, and get a head start on college.

  Over the last couple of years, I've been going to school at Pacific Sands and working with Shanua. It's been a great experience throughout my education journey and have just graduated this month. I would for sure, without a doubt, recommend this Academy and Shanua to any parent or student who is currently looking into it. I had the flexibility of time and could learn what I was actually interested in.
