Poor educational continuity. Scheduling is a nightmare. Limited advanced classes and I'm really not sure if WHS can or tries to prep students for any kind of a challenging college experience.

Amazing school, phenomenal programs, teachers who actually care about the students, and the student population is comprised of genuinely great kids. We moved here from Florida to get away from the violence, poor quality schools, drugs and regular 'school shooter' threats, and it was the best decision ever.

We could not be happier. My daughter was not doing well at her previous high school in Florida because mainly of the disruption and disrespect going on and as a result the teachers were stressed out and mean and had no patience. At Watauga, the student population is much more respectful and the students for the most part are trying to get an education. The teachers are excellent as well as her counselor who is taking an interest in my daughter and her future. We are so happy she transferred up here. She is getting better grades and has regained her confidence in herself.

Watauga High School is not a good place for gifted kids. I am a former student who switched schools and I always felt frustrated by the simplicity of academics at WHS. Prerequisites would have kept me out of AP classes until I was in 11th grade, far after I started needing placement at that level. The honors classes are overfilled and taught by incompetent teachers. This school cares much more about graduation rates than the rigor and quality of the education they give.

I loved my time at Watauga High School. Enjoy it there while you can kids! The real world is so much harder than high school ever could be.

I am a current student at the high school. I think that Watauga High is a great school to be a part of. All complaints that are said can't be more than any other high school. Kids/students complain about school and learning in general. All of my teachers have taken multiple steps to help me learn whether I go before or after school. At Watauga High School the teachers will help you succeed as long as the student is wiling to go the extra mile as well.

This school administration doesn't care about special needs children and don't want the hassle. They are not looking out for their student's best interest. They have and will lie to get rid of students that they don't want to deal with. There is no compassion or passion for our children here. They would rather throw a child away than no what is right and fair. Children shouldn't be punished for their disability! What a pathetic excuse for a school.
