Wonderful teachers and staff that care about their students. Our experience with 4 years of education here is nothing short of excellent. Even in the midst of a pandemic the school has worked tirelessly to keep students engaged. The PTA is also wonderful here with low key fundraising and engagement and support of the teachers and students!

Valle Crucis is an awesome school. The teachers there care about the children and it shows in how much they learn.

I believe teachers should speak for themselves about their school climate and leadership. Valle Crucis School stands united to encourage positive social, moral, intellectual, and emotional development of each child. We are a high-performing, inclusive group of professionals who are committed to providing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is accessible to all students. We know parental engagement is critical to ensuring student success, so we want to work to empower parents and help families get more involved in their child s education. This being said, we realize that the best ways to improve situations or meet challenges are with positive attitudes. We are dedicated to helping our students reach their potential. Valle Crucis, focuses on what is best for each student, That is and always will be our main objective. All schools face difficulties. It is how we choose to meet these challenges that is important. Our entire faculty and leadership work cooperatively as professionals to meet the needs of our students. We value our parents and community. Our school has been and remains one of the highest ranked in our state. We are proud of VC!!

Simply Pathetic. A sad experience overall. Watauga County Schools continue to falter and fail at most everything.

My daughter has been at this school for seven years. We have always been thrilled with the environment, teachers and her progress. However, I do agree that the past couple of years it has greatly declined. While the teachers are still outstanding and do an amazing job, it is hard for even them to perform well under leadership that is far from up to par. The parent community and sadly, teacher moral is at an all time low. It breaks my heart to see such wonderful teachers who rather than getting the support they need, get put down and made to feel like they are nothing. I can't imagine how hard it is for them to give their all knowing that their leader cares not about doing what's right or what will better the students, but only about making herself look good. I pray that the county wakes up and realizes this before Valle Crucis loses some of the best teachers in the state. It is impossible to be a great leader by ignoring true issues and only looking out for number one!!

The academics at Valle Crucis are clearly not up to par compared to other schools in the same district and nationally. My child is not challenged and students seem to be singled out if they do not fit a certain criteria set forth by leadership within the school itself. There is a problem with bullying as we experienced this personally and protocol was not followed by the school in handling the situation. I would greatly advise anyone to do your research and exhaust all other options before putting your babies in such an environment as this.

This school was a very good school. In 2010 the school started going down hill and is continuing to do so. I would seriously consider all my options before placing a child here.

This School has went down in the last couple of years. I hope the county recognizes how much this gem could shine and allow it to regain its former glory. Some of the best teachers, just has leadership issues.
