If you're a parent looking for a smaller school with educators who give 150% + each day and develop individual relationships with each student, then you have to check out this school. I've felt that the experience has been tailored to my child's strengths, and challenges have been addressed in only the most positive of ways. The music, drama, Spanish programs are amazing. The drama itself helps students learn so much. The music too. The fact that such a small school has an incredible and dedicated teacher to focus on these things - amazing! Too many positives to list in this small space!

This is the best school we've ever been a part of. A great big family, stellar teachers - awesome support staff and very high parent involvement. too bad every school is not Bodega Bay Elementary.

This school has been super! My child feels like part of a big family at this school. The one on one attention is amazing. We could not ask for a better education for our child. Thanks to all of the staff.

Bodega Bay school has been a refreshing and extremely beneficial change for my daughter and me. The school is located in a beautiful setting, the community supports the with numerous services and events. The curriculum includes all the latest and greatest standard general ed. Additionally, Bodega Bay school offers music, the arts, Spanish and drama weekly. The teachers have successfully included numerous field trips that reinforce science, history and the arts. The class rooms are small and the teachers have developed strong relationships with the students. The after school program offers enrichment in the arts, drama and physical ed. My daughter has grown by leaps and bounds. Her educational experiences are enriched and will be with her forever.

We are amazed with Bodega Bay Elementary School!! Our daughter started attending this year and I cannot say enough about the experienced and caring teachers, the dedicated parent and volunteer community, the one-on-one attention our daughter receives when it comes to reading and mathematics (due to some of the best student to teacher ratios I've heard of), and not to mention the beautiful setting overlooking the Bay and pastures! How lucky we are to have found by far the best K-5 environment for our daughter in West Sonoma County. If you are considering schools in Sebastopol, Tomales, Occidental, Graton, Point Reyes, Valley Ford or other surrounding areas YOU MUST CONSIDER BODEGA BAY ELEMENTARY.

Spectacular. The school is like being part of a large family. In a time of budget cuts and cutbacks in schools I am thrilled that my daughter is taught art, music, drama and Spanish. I love that the teachers are genuinely concerned with the well being of the children. They are taught citizenship and personal responsibility. This little school is full of wonderful people and programs.

The teachers and staff are completely committed to providing the children with a quality education. I trust that the administration works hard to make sure our school is getting necessary resources. The children enjoy wonderful field trips, music, art and physical education programs. The children benefit from the work of the dedicated community volunteers. Our family is fortunate to be a part of this school!

Bodega Bay Elementary has been a dream come true for our son. Their reading program is exceptional and our child is becoming a very confident reader. The music program is AMAZING and the K-2 and 3-5 grade teachers are wonderful. The size and location of the school makes it feel more like a private education and the entire staff is very caring. The playground overlooks the bay and ocean and we feel so fortunate to belong to such a wonderful school. We only wish that the school would continue through 12th grade.

This school is a wonderful starting point. The multi-grade classrooms & small student body allow for many advantages. The staff is attentive & very kind. I'm not yet convinced the teaching styles are diverse enough for the kids as they get older, but for the K-3 range it is a safe & nurturing environment. My only negative is the lack of fore-planning & notice all around. Parent involvement is required as it is a small school, however even then, notifications are typically 1week or less for activities and such. I would recommend this school to anyone seeking a safe, clean and friendly start to their school years. One thing I'd like to add: this school, unlike most, actually teach manners, courtesy & responsibility. That alone is worth it's weight in gold.

My son is just finishing up his first year at BB School. He enjoys the environment and the other children, but isn't being engaged enough and is drifting off in class. My spouse and I both agree that the school is in need of new teachers-perhaps younger, more energentic, nurturing and a little less stressed out. We currently live in the area and moving him to a new school would be a hardship, but it is one that we are seriously considering. Looking at Occidental and Sebastopol for the Fall of 2013.

Would have to respectfully disagree with above reviews. I currently have three children attending the school, as well as after school program. This is our 4th year there. Personally, I dont think you could pay for a better education/educational experience. The school is very small, and the children all receive much attention. The two main teachers are both incredible, as are all the staff. Everyone is dedicated to making sure each student succeeds. One of my children has challenges and receives appropriate support at all times. In addition to the wonderful staff, there are incredible volunteers who consistently support the children. Fieldtrips and outings vary from year to year but have been diverse and exciting for the children. While the principal is mainly off site, I still rate "leadership" at 5 stars because the school runs efficiently and effectively with the staff on campus. I just wish my kids could stay in this type of nurturing environment thru highschool!
