Both of my children went to Brookdale elementary school and my oldest just finished sixth grade. We had a great overall experience here. The school principal, office staff, and teachers were always professional, responsive and supportive of our kids. During the pandemic, our school district did an outstanding job getting all students chrome books and set them up for a full virtual school day in a short period of time. We always felt our kids were safe and in good hands at this school.

The teachers and principle are amazing and work really hard to make sure every child excels and feels accepted. Class projects, especially the STEM ones, are really enriching, fun, and challenging. I'm mostly happy that my son comes home with a big smile every day and tells me how happy he is at his new school.

I have been very impressed with Brookdale, with our teacher and with Mr.Fleres. The school culture is energetic, positive and shines with creative learning opportunities. The Principal is present all around the school and readily available to meet with parents.

Brookdale Elementary is a great school, our son, as well as ourselves, have had a wonderful experience there. The principal, the teachers, the guidance counselor and the entire staff make this an amazing school. Mr Fleres is fair and cares about the well being of the children. He understands kids and how to handle them. I highly recommend this school.

Both of my children attended Brookdale Elementary School from Kindergarten on. My son graduated last year and my daughter is in 6th grade now. The school is outstanding. The staff, on the whole has been excellent. While we have had limited formal involvement with the Home & School organization, we have been very upfront with our children's education and have gotten to know their teachers and the other school faculty quite well. Their professionalism and capabilities as teachers has been on the whole impressive. The current Principal, Mrs Cherence is an extremely competent executive and top notch educator in her own right. We have found her to be available to us as parents and responsive to needs and requests. My daughter has some learning challenges and we have found that the support for her has been very good, allowing her to thrive academically despite our worries. My son on the other hand was in the magnet program and we found that added another stimulating dimension for him. The school has a very good music program and the town has a great summer arts program. Super school!

I was not sure about Brookdale whenever my daughter started attending. She entered kindergarten already reading and it seemed like she was not being challenged. I wasn't sure if there was a solution. The principal and the teachers worked to find a solution and eventually they moved her up to 1st grade mid year. At all times they put the needs of my daughter first. They took the time to observe her and test her and they were very clear that they would not move her up to appease us. The principal handled the situation and us very professionally.

Since the last review for Brookdale has been dated April, 2009, I felt that it was time to give an updated review of the school. Brookdale is an excellent school hands down! We as parents are very involved with the school, which makes all the difference in the school atmosphere & the children's academic scores. The school not only enforces great academics but also incorporates school & community involvement which shows the children the importance of being involved. Greatschools gives Brookdale a 9 out of 10. Lets shoot for the stars! A 10 out of 10 is right around the corner.
