Having been a proud attendee of Wayne Van Horn Elementary School and a resident of the local community for over 20 years, I can wholeheartedly affirm the exceptional quality of education and nurturing environment this school offers. The dedicated staff and teachers at Wayne Van Horn have consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering both academic excellence and personal growth in their students. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring that each student receives the attention and resources they need to thrive. Furthermore, the school's emphasis on inclusivity and community involvement has greatly contributed to a vibrant and supportive atmosphere. As an alumnus, I am continually impressed by the school's ongoing efforts to adapt and improve, ensuring that it remains a cornerstone of our community. Wayne Van Horn Elementary is more than just a school; it's a place where young minds are nurtured to become the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.

The school seems involved in the education but values their procedures over child safety. Today we went to pick up our daughter only to find her nowhere in sight up against the wall where she should have been for us to be verified for her to be returned to us. about a minute later she came running up to us from outside of the school so somehow when she left the teacher side she was able to leave the school premises go through the parking lot all unsupervised by any school staff whatsoever and happened to wander towards us. I'm not putting all the blame on the teacher, honestly I'm more concerned with the fact that the security system they have allows 4 year olds to leave the premises unsupervised and without parent knowledge but same said system says its impossible for me as a parent to enter and personally get my child sign out or no. That's not all either, three other people we know have had similar issues of this or incidents where their kids got on the wrong bus if at all.

The principal is very involved with the students and is always visible at events. Our grandchildren have had top rated teachers at Van Horn. It is a very friendly environment for the students to learn in.

The principle at this school is the best by far. He is always going above and beyond to help any way he can. My son started there in 2012 in TK, originally supposed to be in K1 but after seeing his behavior the first day we decided it was best to start him in TK. From the very first day I felt like family and that the staff truly cared about my son as if he were their own. By the end of the yr you could tell he advanced far due to the supportive and caring staff and couldn't wait to go back the next year. I will definitely be sad he will no longer be attending this yr due to our move, I will always compare every school and staff to those at Van Horn and I don't think anyone will measure up. Thank you Mr. Lopez and staff for all you have done and all of your hard work. We will deeply miss you.

I POSTED A REVIEW BACK IN 2011 WHEN MY SON WAS IN KINDERGARDEN NOW I HAVE TWO KIDS AT THIS SCHOOL, AND I STILL FEEL THE SAME I DID BACK THEN. LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.

My son started Kindergarten this year (Late Registration) and was assessed in the first week. It was recommended that he enter the Transitional Kindergarten, which I am okay with. I know my son has some behavioral issues due to Lack of Discipline at the daycare he attended for the last 3 years. Where he does NOT act up at home, I KNOW he does whn away from me, sa I started performing unannounced visits and was appalled at what they'd been letting my son get away with AND NOT Telling Me when I asked How He Was that day (EVERYDAY!) I have met with the TK and K1(?) teachers and the Vice Principal and Principal; this is only the 12th School Day!! They seem to be Very Attentive to the children's needs, and I'd have to say if someone feels there is somethig "Missing", they may need to look either in the mirror or, posssibly, at their own child. So Far I am THRILLED with Van Horn!
