My student who is on the autism spectrum struggles greatly at this school. Her behavior has gotten worse each year and I believe it is because no one at this facility is skilled enough, or cares enough, to learn how to teach a high/mid functioning ASD child in a general education setting. She is shunned every day for her disability by the students and her lack of ability by the staff. There isn’t any support provided for the teacher’s within the classrooms and even with my child’s IEP in place, their pull team sucks and nobody upholds what is on paperwork. I have been told first hand by the principle Jason Brannen that my child needs to fail harder in order for them to care enough to provide more services , which i doubt they would do even if, and when, she will fail in the future. As a single parent who knows nothing about the school system, i wish i knew how to take her OUT OF THIS SCHOOL.
