I hate it! If I could put my kids into another school outside of their district, I would, but the district keeps telling me I have to wait until open enrollment. Do NOT consider this school for your child, it should be SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY! The vice principal is the absolute WORSE, she is never available, she lied and told me she sits in classes everyday to observe the kids and teachers, I asked my kids does she ever come to thier class? They told me she is NEVER there unless the district comes in.. go figure! My kids have never been to a school this bad!

The children at this school are not well behaved, and once I witnessed a student putting another kid in a choke hold while the teacher nearby did nothing about it. The teachers rarely respond to emails or messages about my students progress, and there never seems to be any homework handed out. They have also run out of ink for their printers on two separate occasions, resulting in a week of no reading logs sent home. This is a terrible school, and we plan on removing our child from it as soon as we possibly can.

Kids get beat up and bully the only thing the personal in charge do is transferred kids to different classroom they need to be a lil more harder on bullying situation.

Emerson Middle School - It is disappointing the Bakersfield City School District approved to have "Provisional Internship Permit Holders" teach our children. The students deserve to be given the best opportunity for success in a learning environment taught by a fully credentialed teacher. The classroom is not the appropriate place for the teacher to pratice his/her teaching ability.

I am currently not liking this school at all. Most kids that go there are rude to one another. The campus is disgusting. Oh yeah and one kid stole my wallet wile I was lined up to go to lunch. Enough said. PS. There's fights everyday. I would suggest for your child attend a school other than this one.

My child was beaten up on a regular basis. I even got the police involved since it would happen on the school bus also. The principle at that time offered to put my child in special education classes since they were smaller and it would be easier to protect her. I ended up complaining enough to the board of education to get her moved to another school but the teachers and principle of this school at the time did little or nothing to help.
